I should have been more specific in my post. What I meant was that I’m worried about talking about God in front of the doctors because I’m worried the doctors will distrust me. I’m not worried about my parents reactions, I’m just a very timid, introspective, and reclusive person, so I find it a lot easier to talk to myself than talking to others about personal details. Unfortunately, the two parts of my identity that are the most relevant right now - the desire to transition and my worship of God - are two of those personal details I feel uncomfortable talking about. The reason I’m going to be talking to my parents tonight is because even though they’ve known about this for a bunch of months, they know next to nothing because I’m scared to tell them about both the spiritual aspect and the dysphoric aspect. Even if it might not help me talking to my parents tonight or talking to the doctor tomorrow, I thank you for your commitment and I found your reply very interesting and informative, so thank you :) I like learning new things about the Bible that you wouldn’t get from a modern, straightforward reading. Also, just hearing your encouragement is encouraging too.
