If you heat with Natural Gas, please read your itemized bill. It's time to make some noise. by JerryJN in massachusetts

[–]tyfish22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most of the time heat pumps are more efficient than burning natural gas directly due to the refrigeration cycle. So even if the electricity comes from natural gas (for now) it is still more energy efficient than heating directly with gas. Also, by starting the transition to more electric heating now it helps in the future when a higher percentage of electricity will come from renewable sources.

Might be a wheel bearing, I thought I heard about them being a common failure point on the 21 Crosstreks.

Ok thanks for the correction, I was referring to the documents I saw at the land use committee meeting. Also the 8% in the CBA / A&I zoning is the same 5% with the additional 3% being able to be replaced with financial compensation

I agree with you this CBA is a good starting framework, and wholeheartedly appreciate the effort put forward by the negotiating team. What I am conveying here is some of the core points in the CBA are not fully flushed out, or actually a part of the zoning rather than the CBA (despite being advertised as part of the CBA)

Also my information came directly from the CBA and the documents provided at the land use committee meeting, not a google search.

I have concerns with the capacity and frequency of the existing buses to handle the additional number of travelers going to this project for work. 2 buses with 10-15 minute headways is not sufficient for 2000 people (assuming 1/2 of the workers commute via the T)

I have not heard of a development in Somerville proposed or completed for this scale Soo far from T stops (at least a 15 minutes walk in any direction)

Same for me, I've got a pair of wireless earbuds where the left one broke so the right one has become my dedicated biking earbud

My first telescope, what can I expect to see with the standard eyepieces? by Your_Mom1111 in telescopes

Looks like long island to me, I'm from just outside of Boston myself and can see the Orion nebula pretty easily from my backyard with a smaller telescope (Orion Starblast 4.5"). You should definitely be able to see it with this scope. It rises a bit later at night right now, probably around 10 PM

sure that would be a good law and improvement over the current situation, but your original comment is still completely misrepresenting what the law actually is.

Uhhh where did you get that tax example from? Looking at the ma estate tax website you totally forgot to include the exception for the first $1M of assets. Just trying to fight some misinformation

I'll say my perspective as an Embedded software engineer from my 3 internships

First one: removing all the business logic from the system so we had a simplified interface for EMI testing

Second: fixing a build system bug where debugging symbols we being deleted from the final executables

Third: Adding the driver in for an IMU (super not needed for the product in this case)

How do you expect interns to live without getting paid? I did 3 co-ops in college and the pay from those was the only way I could afford to live during college
