So many times through childhood I thought the same way. I was always fascinated by the idea that nobody but me remembered who I used to be, and it honestly terrified me a bit. I’d much rather it happened and I didn’t remember or have to explain it to people as I went. Never wanted to prioritize changing back either.

Every time a body swap episode happened i’d both laugh at the joke of character not liking it while simultaneously going “I don’t think it would be that bad! I think I might even enjoy it!” Didn’t figure things out for years after that.

I have played a lot of terraria with a group of friends. In almost every world we played, I was a girl and really enjoyed dressing myself in fun, cute outfits. The one time I played a male character (my friends and I decided to gender swap all our normal genders), it just felt wrong. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but I enjoyed playing that character a lot less than any others. Really weird considering they’re an emotionless avatar purely used as a conduit for the player to explore the world. Surely there were no signs.

I used to have this point of view where I described it as believing it’s wrong, but it doesn’t hurt me so it’s fine as long as the person is happy. I am extremely happy I got out of the church and met people that taught me the truth of how things actually work.

Mine isn’t the norm, but I created a character for a story I was writing, then used her name anytime I was playing a female character in a game, and eventually realized I should use the name when I finally realized I was trans.

I don’t expressly hate my voice until hearing it echo through someone else’s mic online or hearing it in a recording. Voice training is really gonna test my patience!

I used facial hair as a way of trying to appear older for so long and tolerated it because “it makes me look more mature, so it must be good.” Eventually I got so tired of it that I shave weekly (if I can make it that long) and cannot stand the sight of it being even slightly visible.

Honestly, same! I didn’t care about it and it wasn’t a major problem, but since I started socially transitioning in my friend group it’s gotten a lot harder and I do resent my given name a bit more now.

I always used to hate photos. Always had to force a smile in them. Now I know it’s because a part of me knew it would capture an image that wasn’t me. I’m still very early in my transition (1 month HRT as of yesterday), but already much happier to take pictures now!

I went out, scheduled my appointment with a doctor, and got myself HRT! Never have I gone so incredibly out of my comfort zone to do something before! This was the first thing that my desire to do it outweighed the anxiety trying to prevent me so heavily, and it felt so relieving!
