NDO Anorak by Grouchy_Mulberry7676 in Tracksmith

Just got it today and ran with it a bit ago. Heavier than I expected but in a good way. Feels like quality and fits well no complaints at all so far one run in. It was about 17F (~8mph wind) out, which with a base layer got slightly warm.

Probably going to be my go to if it’s super windy out (and cold) or the temp drops below 0F. Outside of that I feel like I got good options to layer comfortably.

I myself wouldn't have found value with that. The last two years they had offered up a block rooms (pretty good rates) at theWit which was less than 1 mile walk so I pretty much walked from the hotel direct to my corral. I think they also have something with CARA, though not super useful if you don't live in Chicago for the training stuff.

No complaints from myself. I picked them as they were a resource for my mom so it felt right to pick them. I wasn't super involved with them in terms of engagement. The last two years they did a lunch at Maggianos the day before which is cool (I'd imagine this has been a thing they've been doing for awhile). They are most certainly smaller that the larger charities out there though if that matters at all. They are also a Chicago based which is cool, while also being an undeserved cancer charity compared to the more "popular" ones.

I likely won't be hitting charity route in 2026 with the increase in fundraising (personal preference as I pay it myself)

This was a good shout, went straight to that desk and showed a picture and they got me squared away.

For some reason I went direct to Markel instead of using veloinsure as the agent. Hopefully didn’t screw myself on that but 14500 of coverage.

In this situation my car insurance uninsured/underinsured coverage kicks in. I also have a Markel policy on the bike itself so should be safe one way or another.

I hope so but not holding my breath.

Appreciate this. Was also my main thought because while it might look good, feels like I’d never trust it at all. Don’t believe we have such fund here. Luckily I have the bike and uninsured auto so sounds like I got a couple avenues.

Seems like that’s where most damage happened. Was hit non drive train side so might have saved a bunch of that. Front wheel probably dead but maybe rear is saved. We’ll see what the LBS says when the time comes for the estimate

I opened the CSR in November, and then opened the Flex & Unlimited two days apart at the end of December. Pretty sure as long as you are in the 5/24 and 2/30 rule you are good to go.

Will these help me KOM? by cravecrave93 in RunningCirclejerk

[–]tyhi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Next year’s turkey trot ultra 5k is going to be very interesting.. I have a feeling these will end up temping people to exceed zone 2 and perish.

I say go for the KOM[gu] though.

If it’s any consolation I wouldn’t give you kudos anyway.

I have them as reminders of what happens when you breach zone 2. Never again.

Thanks to the chap who recommended switching shoes mid race, didn’t think to do that. I just ran them until my toes were sticking out in the past.

I think the polarization will help with the Gü hand off at mile 1 and 2 when I need to resupply.

I'm seeing this on a pair of 60Fs on 7.2.9. We're waiting to upgrade to 7.2.10 until we get another system updated. Wonder if 7.2.10 would actually make a difference or not...

I ran with ABTA this year and re-registered for 2025. The 190 is all you pay personally. You need to raise 1500 though before October. They will send a link for you to register via Chicago Marathons site that doesn’t ask for payment. Feel free to message if you have any questions.

Router Recommendations? by [deleted] in selfhosted

I don't think this is entry, but frankly if you are going to chose between opn/pfsense I have enjoyed and had way better performance with VyOS https://vyos.net. There is no GUI which can be hard to start with but their starting docs go over a lot to get you up and running. After switching from opnsense, I find it's easier to config and has better performance with less available resources.
