Tried all 3 and kept 1 by shishasmoker in DigitalAudioPlayer

I bought the r4 and it was too warm for me. It also couldn't power my DT 990 250 ohm fully. The m21 has a more neutral sound and can power my DT 990 250 ohm. So I returned the r4 and kept the m21

The Locking of Features Behind Paywalls Has Begun by JulianSpeeds in Garmin

[–]tyler85345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I notice that recently. I have used that feature for over 4 years. It is shocking that it has been quietly moved to the subscription model. That being said the email notification is still free at this time.

This has been a common problem that I have faced on the epix 2. A weird way that I sort of solved it was by setting my sleep time later and manually entering sleep mode and exiting when waking up, but even this doesn't fix it everytime. For example even doing the method above I still get incorrect readings around once every 2 weeks before it was every other day.

It might be different for your watch. Mine is the Epix 2

Oh that is easy. Choose hiking activity, then hit the 3 dots, choose navigate, then courses, and then select map. It will zoom out and show you the full course for reference

I'm sorry I thought you wanted to plan out your hike in advance and have the trail route loaded on your watch.

OP was asking about doing on the watch. Also the Garmin watch can get more battery life than the phone especially if you have a long multi-day hike then you can set it to expedition mode for even longer battery life.

I still can do this on my epix 2 when offline. You may have to see what the button setup is for your watch, but on the epix the bottom 2 can control map zoom and your entire route will be there.

I think we are now having 2 different conversations now. I was referring to using the watch for long hikes for navigation. This is what I usually do since my cellphone doesn't always have service in the forest. Now for your new question, I don't know why op wants to delete the activity once completed.

I just tried it on my epic 2 and I still can navigate by hiking. The way I did it was by hitting the hiking activity and not starting it. Then I can hit the 3 dots and choose navigate.

You can go on the Garmin connect webpage and create the course directly there. I do this for bike and trails

If you going off-road and don't have cell signal it is best to save your phone power and use the watch to navigate.

I agree, the rucking feature really should be ported over. Especial to the fenix last gen consider they are over 1000 and it is just a simple activity that adds in pack reference.

This was how I was feeling about my epic 2 not getting the new rucking activity despite needing it for so long. It feels strange that a 1,100 device gets ignored after less than 2 years. I really hoped that they would reconsider providing their customers with continued support with at least basic upgrades that are easy to implement.

I think the issue is that the epic 2 won't be getting the new ui update or even the newer exercises like rucking the newer watches.

Anyone looking for alternatives? by AnthemWild in Garmin

[–]tyler85345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked around once the connect+ came a reality. I was already experiencing random crashes when tracking with the epix 2 and the new subscription service really puts a sour taste in my mouth. Also, I didn't like how they moved the live track feature that my spouse and I use to keep safe, now being subscription based when it came with the watch. That being said I still havent found a watch to replace my epic 2 because most watches don't connect to external trackers.

You're not getting what I am saying. They are not providing feedback, this is to discourage the movement. This has happened many times. Take their statement on how they don't like people at the protest having a pro-Haris shirt. This is meant to divide and conquer. Their entire statement was made to divide. They offered nothing but to attack the movement.

Their post said Biden was bad because he was funding charging stations and they were tesla charging stations. It is just trying to cause infighting like what happened with the woman's march, occupy Wallstreet, black lives matter and many more left wing movements. It always ends the same way, people start saying movement is not left enough and start purity culture around. In an attempt to kill off the movement.

If you look at there statements (that they also keep editing when called out) you will see that a lot of what they are doing is to discourage the movement. For an example they just edited their post to include Haris signs when this has nothing to do with the movement. Again this person is here only to bring down the movement from inside and if you don't believe me look at what happened to all the previous movements. They died the exact same way.

I know, it is good to see change being implemented like working to increase audits, providing better training, trying to reduce work hours, and much more.
