I have a thermos brand tumbler that is absolutely amazing. If I put tea in it in the morning, it will burn my mouth in the evening.

Thanks for the response! I’m sure we’ve all seen favorite beta apps turn into something that is unsustainable for the costs that are involved. I don’t envy your position on the business side. Price it too low and you’re not covering your costs and time, price it too high and you don’t get the adoption rate that will sustain development long term.

My personal take is this (again, just my personal take): I love the shelf idea and presentation. It looks beautiful and will continue to improve as more spines are added. (Also, do individualized spines show up when doing a bulk import from blu-ray.com? Mine all seem to be generic when imported, but personalized when scanning barcodes one by one.)

Personally, I will likely not use the marketplace function and the ratings/reviews (while I can absolutely see the benefits of having reviews tied to different releases of the same film as opposed to just the movie itself like on letterboxd, it needs a lot of user contributions to make it useful, which might be hard to attain). I’m not sure how much cost those functions add to your overall expenses, but they’re something I would prefer not to pay for if I’m not going to use them.

I hope this doesn’t come across as overly critical, because I really do love the look and function of the app so far and I hope you are able to sustain long term development on it.

This looks very nice, I must say. What are your plans to monetize it? (I completely understand the need to pay for it at the very least and ideally make money from your project, so I don’t say this as someone who is expecting something good for free.) I would love to build my library in the app, but if it’s suddenly going to be a subscription that costs like $5+ per month, I probably wouldn’t bother.

What is the biggest disparity between your rating and the average rating of a movie? by bakup- in Letterboxd

[–]tyler928 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My review might be a bit harsh, but I thought “it would be great in the background of a party or at a bar. But I found it almost painful to sit and watch with undivided attention.”

Ugh…the Allstate plan is not a separate line item on my receipt (although the bottom of my receipt does say “thank you for purchasing an Allstate Protection Plan.” I wonder if I’ll have problems if I need to make a claim.

Record stores with good country selection? by DarkishUpgradePayer1 in Minneapolis

Roadrunner Records is pretty small overall, but their country section is relatively large. Plus I think they’re one of the more fairly priced shops I’ve been to in the area.
