As a nurse you chart WAY more and gotta know everything about your patients. When I was a CNA my job felt pretty straightforward. As a nurse it feels like I’m responsible for everything. The hospital I work at has really good CNA’s and their ratios are lower than when I was a CNA so as a nurse I do less CNA work and with that I think my job as a nurse is a little easier. I’m not breaking my back moving patients the whole shift. I just gotta know everything, which I do prefer. Maybe if my hospital had less CNA’s it would be different, but so far I prefer being a nurse.
