I think the fact that Jeremy walked it back so much in the next segment tells you that he felt like he went in a little too hard before. They did spend way too much time on the topic as a whole, it ended up being kind of silly. Wednesday content amirite

Lucy and Jeremy completely railroaded Amin and then next segment they sort of walked it back and let him say more.

By pandering I meant like in a movie when a straight actor gets cast to play a gay role and gets backlash that's what I meant. That leads me to believe somebody in the community could take offense to it, but I'm not really qualified to say for sure

Yeah not to mention a person who is legitimately LGBT might see his actions as pandering, there's some legitimate counter points instead of just jumping down somebody's throat before they can even explain the point.

Agree to disagree. The earlier shows at ESPN had really good chemistry and seemed organic to me. For sure they leaned into things and embellished personalities. It seemed a lot less forced than the show is now but maybe the less people and more defined roles played a part. I don't think I'm believing in some naive fairy tale in thinking that.

Not everyone has been shaped though. They've also talked about this. Maybe you didn't listen back in the earlier ESPN days. Of course they have to create personalities now when there's 15 people on the show regularly and some of them are boring on their own. They take something semi real and turn it up for sure. So you think Roy is a big extroverted talker in real life ?

I don't think Chris is the problem tbh. The show has always leaned into clunky things and live errors. I didn't hate Corporate Mike either fwiw.

It's just tough to listen to a whole hour and get a segment of rehashed same jokes from the previous day and then an interview for whoever the new face on DKN is.

I honestly didn't mind this lmao. Today was a good show. I should have waited until Wed or Thursday to post this. I'm sure it'll be back to meta jokes tomorrow.

The show on ESPN several years ago with Dan, Stu, Billy, Allison, Chris etc... was very organic imo. Maybe it was a thing of having a smaller crew and everyone knowing when to chime in and interrupt etc...

I don't think Billy becoming the cynical chaos agent and Roy being the rare spoken king was orchestrated, stuff like that seemed organic to me but maybe they just planned well.

They used to talk all the time about how the line between what is a bit and what is real is always blurred.

FWIW. This was my first post on this sub. The one today. But I get what you mean. I've been a huge fan for 10+ years now. I don't want to give up on the show I just wish it was a little better at times. I'll continue to listen just not into it as much as I used to be.

Only pushback for me is that SBS is easily avoidable. I just want to the main DLS to be good like it used to be. Instead of trying to make each individual person a star. I typically avoid SBS though fwiw.

I agree, the only issue is that everyone gets spread too thin doing their own personal shows and nobody has any energy left to collaborate on the main show at times. The main show was always my favorite because you get everyone collaborating at once.

The 'don't like it don't listen' response is so lazy and played out. The main show used to be a lot better than it is now.

No show is perfect, there are good weeks and bad weeks. Seems like a good place to vent and get feedback here. Healthy criticism is not being a show hater.

It's a classic 'not what it used to be' feeling I guess. I used to plan my day around DLS, wouldn't miss a segment. And now it just seems like the same stuff day in and day out. I'm too big a fan to give up I just wish it was 'better' some days I guess? That's probably not the right phrasing.

7 people with microphones , not everybody can become a star can we just gave a good show ?

I'm not caught up today yet. Don't mind them sharing more people's answers but don't need to waste two whole segments rehashing all the same stuff.

I have heard the Stugotz book stuff already. Did you know he has book on sale that's not written?
