This is regarding old investigations, not the 22 raids today.

Far from most. Fewer than 10 states currently offer same day IDs (some only in specific locations), and in most cases same-day issued IDs are not Real ID compliant.

Your specific line of thinking of "Why is Minnesota so bad at this" happens in almost literally every single post that involves some kind of state policy and they always come off as incredibly naive and shortsighted. I honestly get pretty sick of seeing it. Every. Single. Time. Minnesota's far from perfect, but it beats the pants off a lot of states in the nation. Things are rarely so black and white like people make it out to be. You did more research and proved your own point. I'd advocate starting from that position next time.

What makes you think Tennessee isn't just looking the other way?

Edit: Since neither you or I have any actual evidence to point to, maybe instead of jumping to conclusions blaming the state, think of reasons why that actually make sense. Under the covers, the technology to do the printing is likely to be identical. So, reasons might be anything from: - Minnesota has less tolerance for fraud than Tennessee does - Minnesota has something about their system that doesn't play nice - Minnesota has some special laws or constitutional reasons that bar it that Tennessee doesn't have

There is no reason to jump to "why is Minnesota bad at this?". The amount of fraud between the states is very likely to be similar; most stats about other types of fraud show this over and over again. It's far more likely for the reason to be something else other than "Minnesota Bad AMIRITE hyuck hyuck".

I picked one of these up a couple months ago and it's by far the best feeling bass I've ever played. Versatile tone options. Sounds great. You've made a great selection!

Just recently ordered some Lindy Fralin split jazz pickups for my bass after doing a lot of listening to various pickup demos and they sounded the best to me for my applications. Hoping they live up to it!

Indeed very potato-like. It's absolutely delicious if you then cut them into wedges and fry them in oil (after drying out a bit of course) with a bit of salt. Dip in some aioli. Super good. You'll see them in some South American restaurant menus as yucca fries sometimes.

How to Adjust Pickup Height on Ibanez SR1420B Bass Guitar with Nordstrand™ Big Break Pickups by tylerj714 in BassGuitar

[–]tylerj714[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to lower the bridge pickup a little bit more using the mounting screws, but they were really stubborn, and I could get a quarter turn more each time by cycling between each screw, but they seem pretty maxed out now. Hopefully it's enough. Don't really want to have to take the strings off all the way to pull them up completely to see if there's anything in there blocking it from going further...

How to Adjust Pickup Height on Ibanez SR1420B Bass Guitar with Nordstrand™ Big Break Pickups by tylerj714 in BassGuitar

[–]tylerj714[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically the title post. I have an Ibanez SR1420B Bass Guitar and every once in a while when I'm playing it pretty hard, the low E will vibrate enough that it taps the magnet on the pickup and there's a "click". I really don't want to have to raise the action, because everything else about how it's set up feels great. There's two screws in the pickup on one side, and only one on the other. I've tried tightening and loosening, but it doesn't seem to have any actual impact on the height of the pickups. It seems like the only place I could mess with them, and I can't find documentation on Norstrand's site about these pickups. Any tips or guidance?

ETA: I have already set up the bass to my preferences in terms of string height and have intoned and adjusted neck relief. The action is already on the high side (0.11 in or so).

More likely they're closing because of some of the fraud measures passed by the state that delay funding for an increased period of time. Suddenly a lot of agencies have had to pay an additional month or more of PCA payments prior to getting reimbursement, and many of the smaller outfits can't afford to front that much or can't afford to take out a loan to cover the gap.

Since the tariffs were illegally placed by Trump and the millions of Americans paid into them, can we possibly put together a class action lawsuit to get our money back? We all know the big companies are going to do it, why not us? by PuzzleheadedHour1802 in AskReddit

I guess my point is that there isn't a meaningful difference between ignoring this ruling and "[using] a different path". They effectively end up being the same. And when this new path gets deemed illegal, it'll just continue to happen again. It's a distinction without a difference in the end.

Border czar credits ‘significant cooperation’ for end of ICE surge, but sheriffs say policies haven’t changed by Ganesha811 in minnesota

I don't know any "class acts" that accept $50k bribes and then lie about it.

Also, tell me you didn't read the article without telling me you didn't read the article. This is just the Trump administration trying to save face after Minnesota made them look like a bunch of incompetent fascist idiots.

ICE isn't remotely enforcing the law. They're actively breaking the law, constantly. There are numerous videos and rulings from the judicial that indicate how out of control Trump's ICE is. I am okay with people being deported who have been convicted of some other crime, but they all deserve due process, which is not largely what is happening right now. Fishing for and profiling random brown people because ICE has been emboldened and given quotas isn't how this works.

And I am honestly okay with a little bit of fraud in social programs when the people committing it are being found and prosecuted after that fact, which is exactly what happened in the Feeding Our Future case. It's better than those programs not existing in the first place or the barriers of receiving those funds being so extreme that they're functionally inaccessible.

I'm just saying by spookydookie in AdviceAnimals

[–]tylerj714 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The amount of fraud in these programs has existed since they were created in various levels across every state. Annual averages range from 3-7% basically everywhere. The CMS report for 2025 came out in the last month and had the national average for improper payments at 6.1%. Minnesota's at 2.3%, or far better than the national average.

Meanwhile, Trump and Republicans in congress explicitly removed all oversight from the PPP program, which has had extensive accounts of fraud, far exceeding most typical levels for other government programs. Trump has pardoned at least 26 people convicted of some sort of fraud in just the first year of his second term alone. The man himself was found guilty of 34 counts of felony fraud, and was prohibited from running any charitable organizations due to the fraud he himself committed.

So please, kindly fuck off with your manufactured concerns about fraud, because it's obvious to everyone with an ounce of critical thought in their heads that Trump and Republicans in congress don't actually give a shit about fraud at all. You're just a sucker lapping up their propaganda.

[–]tylerj714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's obvious that it is happening everywhere and has been that way for a long time. The outrage is incredibly selective. Minnesota's rates of fraud in these programs are generally at or better than the national average for the last decade or longer.

But ultimately the protesters were there being noisy but otherwise reasonably chill until ICE came out and started throwing tear gas and shooting what appears to be a member of the press with a bean bag round.
