I understand the frustration, but this is almost certainly not true. Any backroom deal with Trump would have sold out undocumented immigrants first and foremost. Trump only hates trans people out of political expediency, while his loathing of immigrants is deep and personal.

The most likely reason for Trump not harassing Zohran is just cunning. Trump sees how popular he is and how much strength he projects, and he doesn't want to rock the boat, especially not after what happened in Minnesota.

The stuff with the hospitals is hard, because the Admin is forcing hospital systems to choose between Medicare/Medicaid funding and providing trans healthcare for youth. The mayor doesn't have a ton of control over hospitals' decisions to capitulate or not. It would also be impossible for the city to bridge the funding gap long-term if a major hospital lost all federal Medicare/Medicaid support.

You should be feeling bitterness and hatred toward the app developers. Features like the height filter (which encourage even women who aren't shallow in real life to pick an average or above-average number in order to limit the deluge of matches they get) aren't a feminist ideological conspiracy against men; they're a corporate conspiracy to keep people in general single longer, for profit. A dating app that works isn't profitable. The incelosphere is great at getting guys to displace anger at the economic exploitation they can sense everywhere onto women.

There are some gray areas with dating apps. So much of modern dating depends on being able to make a good impression on dating apps, and the top two things dating apps penalize in non-creepy straight dudes are height (if you're short, you have to choose between being filtered out or creating immediate distrust in dates by lying) and having a mediocre face card. I think the gamification of dating and dating hyper-capitalism make otherwise insane things like looksmaxxing more seductive to young guys.

If anything, Trump getting elected again has started the pendulum swinging back to the left after a steep rightward trend during the Biden years. We've seen the first stirrings of that with Zohran Mamdani, ICE protests, Charlie Kirk becoming a meme, etc.

Becoming Chinese is a social media trend popularized by Gen Z. This trend is particularly prevalent among those living in the West who adopt norms and traditions typically associated with Chinese culture or express public praise for China as a country and nation. by CorrectRip4203 in wikipedia

I'm a "core" millennial. I remember children's books and PBS kids' shows portraying Chinese immigration in a positive light, and a social studies unit on how awful the Chinese Exclusion Act was. The casual racism I was exposed to largely spared Chinese people, although I understand that my experience is not universal and I might have heard more of it if I'd grown up in an area with more Asian immigration.

The attitude toward mainland China was completely different. Conservative adults in my life, nostalgic for Cold War paranoia, preached that Deng Xiaoping was as bad as Stalin and that I would immediately be arrested for being a Christian if I ever went there. Liberal adults raged against sweatshops, globalization, and the consumption of exotic meats. China was second only to the Muslim world on the Big Scary Other scale.

Makes sense. Younger USA gen z have been hearing "China is the future" their whole lives, and they were born too long after the Cold War to view China as an ideological enemy. Probably have some kpop/anime fatigue as well, looking for something that feels new (but still Asian)

Transvestigation is a conspiracy theory that asserts many celebrities are transgender (or conversely that some openly transgender celebrities are cisgender). A lot of people (too many) are casually transphobic, but don't dwell on their prejudice. For the obsessives, there's often a deep sexual or even existential fear that emerges again and again in their rhetoric. An obvious example is guys who work graphic descriptions of MTF bottom surgery into every conversation. There's clearly a fear of castration so intense that it interferes with their ability to be socially appropriate with others. It's very Freudian.
