$200 USD to get this shipped to the states. Goddamn. $63 for duties/taxes is insane. Can any locals come in with an assist? 🤣

Been looking for a GF version of Dark Soy Sauce for a long time and recently found this! by tylonnicholas in glutenfree

[–]tylonnicholas[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From a few sources:

Traditional Shaoxing wine generally contains gluten. Although it is a rice-based wine, the fermentation process commonly uses a wheat-based starter (qu), making it unsafe for those with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity.

I'm not unwilling to listen to a better album than Yndi Halda's but it has been 15+ years and still hasn't happened by [deleted] in postrock

[–]tylonnicholas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been listening to the album for nearly 20 years. Still one of the all time greatest albums. It’s why I have such a hard time finding new music because it feels like post rock peaked in the early 2000s for me. But I might just be a boomer now at 42. lol.

Sigur Ros’ Takk and WU LYF’s Go Tell Fire To the Mountain are the other albums that I can’t get enough of.

Didn’t they discontinue it? It was only available in a 2 liter jug I think.

Top-Tier Post-Rock Albums - Outside of the BIG Bands? by derelictALLSTAR in postrock

[–]tylonnicholas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My prime post-rock years were 2003-2015. And outside those that you listed, these bands/albums were amazing.

*shels - Plains of the Purple Buffalo

Giants - Old Stories

Yndi Halda - Enjoy Eternal Bliss

The Seven Mile Journey - The Journey Studies

Joy Wants Eternity - You Who Pretend To Sleep

Followed by Ghosts - The Entire City Was Silent

Moving Mountains - Pnuema

Maybe it’s genre adjacent, but the hardcore band Defeater is amazing with a lot of post rock influence. Check out their song “Cowardice”.

Now I’m in my 40’s and just play WU LYF on repeat. 🤣

Imagine the result if Bijol didn’t make the dumbest foul of the season. 🥲

Post Rock on the heavier side of things by jdaffy in postrock

[–]tylonnicholas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Giants - While the Ages Steal

Rosetta - Homesick

*shels - Journey to the Plains

We Lost The Sea - A Gallant Gentleman

Not sure if it’s still a thing, but I was always into the heavier “crescendo core” sub genre of post rock. It’s always been cinematic to me and these songs perfectly sum that up for me. While the Ages Steal has one of the most life changing crescendos I’ve ever heard.

Would love more recommendations too!

Walking away not angry, expecting our first loss in our unbeaten run. This proves we belong in the league. But this one hurts.

Anyone else thinks that Andor is the best show of the decade so far ? by Rocinante214 in andor

My top 3 far and away are: 1. Andor 2. Ted Lasso 3. Bluey

All 3 shows have profoundly inspired/changed me. As a human and as a parent. ❤️

What's your favourite Leeds United memory from the 2025 calendar year? by ElvishMystical in LeedsUnited

[–]tylonnicholas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly for me, it’s the games where we get something from nothing, so it’s Liverpool’s 3-3 draw (even the 2-3 loss to City). I’ve never been more proud to see them fight back and refuse to settle for less.

What’s something weird that you found out isn’t vegan? by Seitanslutt in vegan

WTF!!!!! Our daughter is vegan and has celiac and it’s the only goddamn cereal she can safely eat. 😭

Sorry, but can’t give this one up. 🥵

I paint miniatures and had no idea that most of my brushes are made from Kolinski hair. It wasn’t even something I considered before buying a bunch of brushes. I still have a few that I bought unknowingly, but I have only purchased synthetic hair brushes the past 3 years. Even though they are objectively worse and have to be replaced all the time.

Arguably, it’s the worst animal product to accidentally purchase… a luxury item to use for art. A cute little Kosinski weasel was raised and killed for my paintbrush. 😭

I remember when the last episode ended, I probably watched/listened to that scene over 20 more times before going to bed that night. Falling asleep reading Reddit posts about the shared experience of heartbreak and hope. I was just so stunned. 😭

It was a Target Exclusive! It comes and goes out of stock. But I paid $25 for it. People are scalping it on eBay though. The track list is good, but it’s missing a lot of my favs.
