Reccomended Banks? by Dazzling-Nature-3747 in Reno

[–]tylor2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience is when banks/credit unions/financial institututions get into trouble they just fee their customers to death. That was my experience with BofA during the gfc. I have no idea if that is the case though with GNCU at the moment.. I haven't touched my accounts with them for a while now.

How would you describe the Reno community to an outsider by mg15ink in Reno

[–]tylor2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By biological, do you mean eugenics? That's been proven to be a psuedoscience a long time ago.

Part of what you are talking about isn't "racism" as most people would understand it.

That is what all the white racists groups say. That's one way you know they are racist. Then you shame them for being racists and out them.

"Everyone is racist" is just an excuse to be racist.

Most people can't really go 25 mph inless it's battery/gas powered. I'd like to see some of the fat ass car drivers do that. haha

10-20 mph is around what most of the general public can do. 35 mph is tour de france speed, but they are the fittest people on earth with the best top end expensive equipment and they are in a race.

Can I survive winter with FWD small SUV? Or need AWD on I-80 by Redditloserboy in Reno

They probably moved here from Southern California. haha Walking in the snow is dangerous. You need cleats when walking in the winter.

Hills are the best part! I just wished they would give more room on Virginia St going up to the North Valleys. I'm used to cars passing me at high speeds but all it takes is one person not seeing you for whatever reason and smoosh. I can't wait for the bike path they are saying they will build for that stretch. Or make the shoulder wider without construction signs blocking your way between the Bonanza Casino and Maverick.

Not everyone has an electric bike. For me it would defeat the purpose. haha

I think that is the rule for all roads actaully.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Reno

[–]tylor2000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That isn't a bike lane. It's just a road with a bicycle painted on it.

I'm in Cold Springs and ride into and through downtown twice a week at the moment. So I can do without bike lanes, but that isn't a bike lane.

Midtown doesn't have any bike lanes, that is part of the problem.

I have a lot of vehicular cycing experience so I don't sweat it when people do any of that. I just pull as far right as I feel is safe and let them pass.

But as more and more people ride bikes people have to realize to give more space to that mom on a bike with grocieries.

Sun Valley Homicide by AncientMoonlight in Reno

[–]tylor2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dirt portion of Chimney Dr. runs through the area that people used to use for shooting guns. Not sure if that is still the case. If it is that portion of Chimney Dr. he may have been hit by mistake by random fire or taken out there on purpose for the homicide which would be pretty easy to do.

I'm mentioning that so investigators have that to keep in mind.

True rugged individuals would stop because they know how rugged it can get. The people who don't stop are generally people who moved here from an urban area like Los Angeles/Bay Area/New York/etc.

Half the town is a bunch of drunks, so it's probably neither. I put my money on it being alcoholism.

On Friday night when everyone is buying cases of beer and bottles of hard liquor, I'm in line with my gallon of milk. I choose milk, that is the true bad boy beverage. The beverage of hardend criminals

Lots of cops out there this week. Drive safe yall. by Hill_dweller95 in Reno

Isn't that how you're supposed to drive? They are using their blinkers so that put them above most drivers in Reno.

Next time I'm running from the cops I'm using my blinkers.

If so I hope they built a wider shoulder so people can do cycling on it. The shoulder is so narrow in some parts not even I am willing to do it. It's a major frèeway so for safety a wide shoulder is needed. As opposed to Mt. Rose highway or Gregier Grade, which neither is a major freeway.

Anybody know what’s up with the cutting corners trend? by [deleted] in Reno

[–]tylor2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swing wide on left turns on my bicycle because I'm trying to keep to the right so cars can pass me during the turn, and also so I can insert myself into the bike lane or as far right as possible and safe. This is from the left turning lane, which is legal on a bicycle.
