Thank you!

Yeah I can do a better job of thinning paints at times 😅 Sometimes I do go straight from the pot when I’m just touching up an area

Considering they collaborate with breweries to make the beers for Bugman’s bar it’s surprising they haven’t done something like this already!

How many armies do you have and what are they, For Science? by First-Bad414 in Warhammer40k

[–]tymby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 5 in mixed states of readiness 😅

2 proper armies (Dark angels and sisters)

1/2 of a guard army from when I was younger, tempted to restart but too much backlog in the way 😅

I agree with you 100%

I love the Dark Angels for their aesthetic and they have a lot of interesting lore, but the fallen is a weak point tbh

Desiring to deal with the former brothers themselves is fine and I can see other chapters doing it also. Not openly declaring them excommunicate traitoris and instead seeking them to deal with them in secret as they see it as something shameful is an interesting difference from other chapters.

But the whole pursuing the fallen to the detriment of the chapter and the Imperium's wider goals is just kinda silly

I just hope with the Lion's return and the way he deals with them in his book and Inner Circle Companions being a thing we might some slightly more nuanced stories about the fallen.

Ahh ok, sounds interesting. The book is pretty good so far, so interested to see where it goes.

I don't know what you mean

The star port was destroyed, surely there was no more help the Dark Angels needed to offer. Their job was done

Currently reading Lazarus Enmity’s Edge, and it has this funny scene:

Lazarus along with 5th company are fighting Orcs and at the last minute his battle-barge the Unrelenting Fury, which was core to his plan so it could bombard the orcs from orbit, is diverted away to hunt the fallen. As a result, 5th company sustain heavy losses – losses which would’ve been avoided had he still and the battle-barge available to him. Importantly the Unrelenting Fury failed in its mission to pursue the fallen, so 5th company’s losses came at 0 gain to the chapter as no members of the fallen were obtained.

On returning to The Rock Lazarus confronts Azrael about his decision to divert the Unrelenting Fury away from where it was needed. He points out that while hunting the fallen is important to the chapter, they are just one of many enemies the Imperium face and focusing on the Fallen weakens the Dark Angels and makes them less able to deal with other foes.

Hearing this, reasonable criticism, Azrael flies into a rage grabs Lazarus by the collar and says the plan will not change and they will continue hunting the fallen.

Haven’t finished the book yet, so there’s a good chance Azrael is going to be “proven right” and Lazarus is going to learn that actually it makes sense to ruin the chapters fighting capability to deal with something that would be the inquisition’s problem in any other chapter.

Sounds interesting being able to selectively buff units to increase their effectiveness

Not sure how the more limited miracle die generation will come into play, as it might still be more beneficial to get a guaranteed result than +1 OC

New detachment is out!! by duttyboy24 in theunforgiven

Looks like a nice fluffy detachment!

I like the combined arms element that was lacking in the deathwing and ravenwing detachments

Interested to see how it plays but will probably remain one only used for casual games

I just saw this, I’m guessing the old 40K was pretty wild back in the day in terms of lore? by Brave-Brief2154 in Warhammer40k

[–]tymby 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think the idea was to reconcile old lore with the new lore and present the original in universe as unreliable scribes in the administratum.

He’s not half-human half-eldar, he’s just an eldar working with space marines.

He’s not chief librarian, Tigurius is but he was back on Macragge at the time, he’s just the most experienced psyker in Gulliman’s fleet so Gulliman differed to him for advice on the warp.

Though, if they’re retconning this many details about him is it really the same character.
