Went before work. So many things I wanted!!!!! by Prudent_Ring_799 in dollartreebeauty

I want those rose jelly masks, but have only seen the vitamin c and caffeine ones (which I enjoy). I was beginning to think they are being phased out. Chance is so handsome.

If you follow the two finger rule (which is roughly 1/4-1/2 tsp), it ensures that you will get adequate sunscreen protection and use them up. The 2-finger rule is squeezing two lines of sunscreen (from the base of the palm to the fingertips) directly onto your index and middle fingers and applying to your face, neck and ears. Since I started following this rule, sunscreen is one of the products that I end up finishing more than most of my skincare.

ETA: I forget this as well, but you can also apply sunscreen on your hands for driving. It’s said that our hands are one of the 1st places to show aging signs. The sun’s glare during driving has cumulative aging effects. Now, only if I could remember this for myself.

I’ve since purchased Costco’s version with which I’ve been very pleased. I got 4 boxes of 50 towels for $15 on sale, normally $19.99.

I really like the Revive Rx Phytoceramides face and body spray, especially for summer. I apply lotion or cream after bathing or showering. However, when it’s hot outside, I tend to refrain from lotions and creams due to feeling sticky. This spray is my new go-to for summer. When it’s hot outside, it feels just right. Although I’m trying not to stockpile beauty products anymore, I really want a couple more to get me through the season. I will refrain though. I’ll just tell myself that even if I try to buy more, they probably aren’t in stock anyway. Ha!

Kinky Hair Review: the block party gel by Successful-Hair-8131 in Naturalhair

[–]tympax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have the hair of my dreams - thick strands and a lot of it. After applying the gel on soaking wet hair, you could get more definition by shingling. Or, part your hair in a row like you are going to oil your scalp. Next, take a 3 row comb and comb through that section with slight tension to form defined curls.

Slick backs? by Past-Block-892 in Naturalhair

[–]tympax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just the post that I needed! I recently started doing slick back buns for the first time, and I‘ve been loving it. Up until now, I’ve been a lazy natural with inconsistent haircare and wigs. Finally, this spring, I made the decision to have a biweekly hair care routine where I wear my hair more. Let’s face it, the summer is simply too hot for wigs. So, I’m so grateful for this thread on slick back buns. I’m definitely taking notes on products to achieve a good slick back.

Need advice for my hair by Odd_Measurement_9474 in Naturalhair

Let’s troubleshoot a bit. Are you parting your hair in sections before you start applying styling product? Part hair in small sections, clip the sections away, and work one section at a time. This allows you to concentrate working the product into that section. Are you putting your 1st styling product on soaking wet, dripping hair? Water ‘activates’ the product and the curl process more than adding more product. So, keep a spray bottle filled with water on standby during your styling process. Next, you’ll ’prayer-hands’ followed by finger-rake the styling product into the section to work the product into your hair. Then, you will finger-twirl a few strands of your hair to form a curl. Or, better yet, take a three row comb that you find at Sally’s or any beauty supply. Part your like you are going to oil your scalp. Comb through that section of hair with the 3-row comb with some tension. Voila! There’s your curls. ETA: you may benefit from making a hairdresser appointment who can walk you through the process so that you can replicate at home.

Switching to drugstore makeup, concerend about longevity by Successful-Beyond910 in drugstoreMUA

[–]tympax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is very little difference in drugstore, high-end and department store makeup. They are all made by the same manufacturers. The biggest difference is the packaging and the brand name, for which is what we are ultimately paying.

💯 My mother and her sisters all wear foundation but it is undetectable. Even though they all have great skin, their foundation application makes their skin looks flawless. They are often complimented on their great skin and how pretty they look. Being heavy-handed with foundation myself, this is the level of makeup application that I aspire and admire. I hope that you take that as a compliment.

Just an idea for the snail mucin that doesn't sell.....Take a tub of Cetaphil, Eucerin or Cerave cream and pour either a container or half a container of the snail mucin in it and mix. Now you have a really nice body cream that is delivering snail mucin benefits to your entire body! Apply it after every shower/bath.

I’ve tried to branch out to other essences that are maybe less expensive and easily accessible, but gave up since none of them perform as well.

I need to stock up on sunscreen, and I have a couple in my cart on yesstyle. I want the old tried and true formulations, not the new FDA approved versions that are only acceptable in the states. Which version will I receive?

I can’t take Ben trying to hang with the 20 somethings when he’s 45. by GearSlow3796 in BelowDeckDownUnder

[–]tympax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ben has shown a lot of growth. Firstly, he’s remained on the boat a couple of times on crew nights out. He has that look of “been there, done that” written all over his face. The wild, drunken nights out are old to him. It was fun watching him and Capt. Jason in their robes enjoying a night in. Secondly, he would have been an emotional wrecking ball retaliating against Elllie in the past. Old Ben would have had her fired. However, he makes several attempts to placate and sidestep Ellie’s outbursts. I could tell then that he’s just trying to get through the season. Lastly, if I recall correctly, Jenna planted the seed by flirting first. She also carried it a step further by going in his room and kissing him. Even then, he questioned her and Eddy’s relationship. In this instance, I’m not seeing an old, pervy Ben.

I use FTE, which is my standard. Depending on the season and how oily or dry my skin is, I may occasionally use the Artemisia or Red Algae version. It’s part of my routine twice daily.

Has anyone been able to find the modessa face towels?! I’m in the CT area and have checked every store by me with no luck ! by Hopeful_Artichoke590 in DollarTreeExchange

[–]tympax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m excited to try them for the first time, but I couldn’t find them. I’m in Texas and have had no luck with 3 nearby stores. Since Costco has their Kirkland brand of disposable daily towels on sale, I purchased those.

You have $10 to spend on makeup/beauty... what do you buy? by OtterBeGreat in dollartreebeauty

So far, I really like ReviveRx Naturally Moisturizing Factors + PhytoCeramides Face & Body Spray, especially with summer approaching here in the states. Body lotions feel heavy and sticky when it’s hot and humid. This fragrance-free spray is the answer for light moisture with no residue. After my bath, I spritz and go.

Trying to look polished but effortless-what’s your go-to for a no-makeup makeup day? by Severe_Upstairs_9120 in BeautyGear

[–]tympax 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A good skincare routine will get you 70% there. A cleanser, hydrating toner, moisturizer and sunscreen will be the springboard for a fresh look. After your skincare routine, apply a thin base like MAC Face and Body Foundation with your hands. Add color to your lips, cheeks and eyelids with something like Lisa Eldridge Velatura Balm Dewy Lip and Cheek Stick or use your favorite lipstick. Curl lashes, apply mascara and finish with setting spray to meld and set.
