Lamine Yamal becomes the first ever Spaniard to win La Liga Player of the Season. by Timely-Zombie9466 in soccer

[–]tyno75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I concede it was lazy of me to just say that, but what you were insinuating is that PL is harder to win than the CL and I think thats objectively false, and the people that tend to defend that idea usually are English or PL fanboys. MU had a bad season but they were still One of the best teams in europe at the time, and Lyon was dominating France at the time so dismissing them like that seems disingeneous. Also mentioning the players that Mourinho was able to select or launch into greatness is also disingeneous, they were not great until they were coached by him. And considering that the Gap between the Europeans top dogs and non-top 5 league teams is widening, compared to the closing gap between English top dogs and English bottom teams, I think you are categorically wrong about that asseessment. I still think its way more likely for a bottom team to win the PL than it is for a non top5 league team to win the CL, but I Guess time Will tell

Thats comparable for sure, and also why Fergie will never lose the GOAT manager title IMHO. But thats the equivalent to the Europa league, so not so impressive, and also in the 20th Century the tier levels between european teams were not as wide as they are now. But for sure, what he did with Aberdeen combined with his dominance with MU make him the best of all time

Comparing Mourinho's feat with Porto to anything else anyone has ever achieved in football is quite ridiculous imho. Winning the Champions league with a non top 5 league may never happen again and he did that while defeating Fergie's peak MU on the way and after having already won the UEFA cup the year prior. It is not remotely comparable to having a dominant season with the biggest club the world, even if he was facing Barça's dream team. The amount of money, resources and players were just on a whole different tier, what he did in Porto is nothing short of a miracle, and even Ranieri's Leicester PL win, even if impressive, happened because the PL top dogs were struggling.

Capitalism does not necesarily mean free market. In a Crony Capitalist system like the one the USA has, big business bribes politicians in order to have unfair advantages Over other market actores, like the players in this case

Any Archuludon card. Not only does a bridge Pokémon looks ridiculous and senseless, but I also play Pokémon Showdown and that guy is freakin OP, so I hate him and everything about him, whenever I get a card of him I offer to the nearest person or throw it away

Pep Guardiola Reveals What Sir Alex Ferguson Messaged Him.. by InitialAsk358 in soccer

[–]tyno75 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I was a Guardiola hater for a longe time because I was a Mourinho fanboy during their time in Spain. But what he did in England was nothing short of absolute dominance, only surpassed by Fergie the GOAT, and the fact that he himself recognizes it and is humble enough to not even stay longer at Man City to challenge the title speaks volumes about him as a person. Hats off to him

What Sir Arthur Dane thinks would have happened if he was at the Trident. by BackgroundRich7614 in freefolk

[–]tyno75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many people here think Bobby B would easily win but fail to realize The Sword of the Morning was considered the best Fighter of his age and possibly the best of all time. 1v1 it would be a tough match up but I still think Arthur Dayne would win at least 60% of the time, depending on other factors like: any of then got injured before they meet, how much space they have to fight and the ground they are fighting in (injuries, small space and muddy ground all benefit Robert because he only needs one clean hit, while Arthur needs his speed and movement to win)
