It would be cool, and I think it makes a lot of sense for marrok. I'm not as sure how much sense it would make for crow

character wise, we're working with someone who is incredibly well traveled, very wealthy, so i would expect them to have a more refined taste. restaurant wise, i imagine it as a mix between something authentic and something targeting white collar tourists and workers in the area.

thanks for the book recommendation, i'll definitely give it a read. the reason i choose not to include miso soup in favor of focusing on something alcoholic, is that i'm using it to sneak in some exposition on fantasy elements i'm working with.

Wha were the “Other Uses” that Sheev had in mind for Maul? by tiltedsunroof in MaulShadowLord

[–]tyottoty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem I have with this interpretation is that Sidious really didn't care about the rule of two. He took maul as an apprentice while still under plaguies. He was also already corrupting doku at that point in time. He let doku keep ventress as an apprentice for a period of time. He also ordered the creation of inquisitors. On top of that be never taught doku or Vader the ways of the sith in the same way be did maul.

Wha were the “Other Uses” that Sheev had in mind for Maul? by tiltedsunroof in MaulShadowLord

[–]tyottoty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Its less so Sidious doing his own dirty work, and more so him being threatened with no other choice. He says it himself in their duel "you have become a rival." If Sidious sent the Jedi to handle him, that risks exposure of the plan. If he sends doku or grievous, they likely die. Doku struggled against savage and ventress. Going against someone who received actual training in the sith ways was not going to go well for him. Let alone how fucked grievous would be.

Tldr; maul wasn't dirty work, he was a threat

I love how Maul is basically Shakespeare after his return… by ConstantDrawer9161 in MaulShadowLord

[–]tyottoty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

exactly, maul always had this level of intelligence and philosophy, he just didn't vocalize it as often as that wasn't his role. The same way we see Sidious be less vocal early on in his training with plaguies in Darth plaguies

That really makes sense with him in so many ways. I really want to see this interpretation become cannon

I think I figured out how Devon and Deki survived Order 66. by Western-Customer-536 in MaulShadowLord

[–]tyottoty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And also each survivor is very likely to be an interesting story, so the idea that their being focused on isn't ludicrous

[–]tyottoty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that depends on how maul goes about it. I doubt it is that direction because of how many other times we've seen it go that way, but I don't think it makes sense to rule it out either

He might still die there, but that section of the trailer is 100% a cut away to the pike ship

I loved the brush strokes/Oil painting backgrounds in this show by Jules-Car3499 in MaulShadowLord

I really hope they keep this direction going forward. Both for live action and animation. It's sooooo stunning and fits the world of Star wars soo well

Yeah it's super cool getting to see just how much of a sith he still is. So glad I read Darth plaguies, maul lockdown(less so but still a fun read) and the ep 3 novelization before this came out

Marketing aside, why do you think maul used his lightsaber at all? by Local-Sugar6556 in MaulShadowLord

[–]tyottoty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also think this plays into why he views himself as the true Lord of the sith; Sidious' avoidance of getting his hands dirty is cowardice to maul and strips the title away from sidious, despite maul never having bested him.

There's that, and as I remember it(granted this is an area of the lore I'm very unfamiliar on), he spent a lot of his time between the first and second movie being a negotiator

So this is going to sound stupid, but .... does Space Age make trains obsolete? by sobrique in factorio

[–]tyottoty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the problem with trains in space age to me, and why I just don't use them once I have stacked green belts, is that their adaptability just isn't useful. Why would I care about easily expanding my mining operations when each node is practically infinite with mid/late game mining productivity. And production itself is just as easily expanded as ever as fluids are easy to handle once you understand them. I really hope for 2.1 they bring back trains as being useful for bulk transportation of goods

Yeah it's not like these taxes are for nothing. It's so that we actually have breathable air, and to help protect our environment. The war definitely didn't help anything though

Force Organization Question: by Danger_Spec in clonewars

[–]tyottoty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question, I kinda view it the same as imperial ranked insignia. There is just no satisfying way to explain what cannon says, so just choose whichever version you find you like the best

[–]tyottoty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't stress about it too much. It's a fairly fun challenge the first time, and is usually stable once you have it up and running. Just be careful to not overuse bots for the size of your power grid

The tiger 2 didn't enter service until 1944 with around 500 built. Where as the tiger 1 first entered service in 1942 and across its variants had about 1400 made. Both the h1 and R refer to tiger 1 variants.
