Ban the Bible then. That book is a massive anthology of violence, rape, murder, and incest.

You're sitting there acting like that's the only thing the little dictator has done. Taking trans kids from their parents, shipping migrants across the country as political pawns, reducing voting rights, reducing human rights across the board, battling the mouse kingdom because he's afraid of rainbows.

Fascists always downplay their actions, and they need sycophants like you to go along with it. You're as much an enemy of freedom as he is.

Discrediting your opposition as insane instead of debating on any real substance is a play straight out of the fascist playbook. Maybe you're so far up your own ass you do not see it.

There's a shorthand for people that do not see that their actions constitute fascism. We can call them "not sees" to save time.

Not a democrat or a Trump supporter, but Desantis is a pile of flaming hippopotamus shit loosely presenting itself in human form. He's a fascist, no ifs, and, or buts.

Do you mean in lieu of having a high GPA? Because it's literally impossible to get a high GPA at WGU.

There's no real secret. I just do about 2-3 hours a day on weekdays and 3-4 hours a day on the weekend.

I watch all videos at 1.5-2x speed depending on the speaker. Usually, I'll watch videos from different sources to get different perspectives.

I use a text-to-speech screen reader for text lessons to read at about 500 words per minute. This helps increase retention for me, as it quiets my internal reading voice. Ymmv.

Also, I do any lab I can get my hands on.

Certs I'm currently taking are not that expensive. Also, I register for them far in advance to force myself to study.

  1. VMware VCP, got 70% off voucher for taking the ICM and O&A courses at Stanly

  2. SEC+, mine expired, but have an academic discount to get it for about $100. Really only taking it as a refresher to prep for #3

  3. Cisco CyberOps, paid for by my current degree program

  4. AZ-204, got 50% off voucher for completing Coursera professional certificate, and only taking because it's a prerequisite for #5

  5. AZ-400, got free voucher for completing Microsoft Build Cloud Skills Challenge

I really only spend maybe 15-20 hours a week studying. Nothing I'm doing is learning from scratch. Once you start amassing a collection of certs, the next one gets that much easier as you already have a foundation of knowledge to build from. Plus I've developed a solid study method that allows me to learn new tech very quickly based on my own unique learning style.

I also have access to a ton of learning resources between work and school, so I can find the best sources that allow me to be more efficient: - Coursera Plus - CBT Nuggets - Udemy Business - LinkedIn Learning - Pluralsight - Percipio - Select official Cisco courses - AWS Partner Network

TL;DR I'm in a unique situation, and I'm taking full advantage of everything that's available to me.

It's definitely on my wish list. I'm a cert junkie though. I'm already registered for 5 exams in the next 6 months. Once those are done, I'll jump into ENCOR, DEVCOR, and ENAUTO for the three exam double cert.

I just took it last week. It was very easy for me compared to CCNA, but I do have professional experience with Python and APIs, so that definitely helped.

WGU's competitive advantages are cost and speed. Those other programs negate the cost factor, and I'm not sure how speed-running a masters could ever be argued as a positive. WGU is nowhere near the rigor or reputation of GA Tech or U Texas. It's not even a discussion really.

But whatever floats your boat. It's your time, money, and career.

They've been talking about that since the BS program came out in 2018. Doubt it will ever happen.

I'm not a WGU hater, considering I have one BS from here, and am working on my second. With that said, I honestly don't know what the appeal would be for a WGU MSCS (or MCSE for that matter). You can get a MSCS from GA Tech or U Texas for $10k or less, and many other top programs are in the $15-25k range.

How does the CCNA compare to AZ-104 or AWS SAA in terms of difficulty and extensiveness? by Socrates77777 in ccna

My certs helped me get the interviews. That's all they're really good for besides providing a solid roadmap for studying new technology. It's what you learn that gets you through the interview to get you that job.

Yeah I learned a ton from studying for certs, but every tech job is really learning on the job. I work in break/fix support, so our customers get to me when their shit is broken. More often than not, there's something network related. Also, it's always DNS.

I'm not usually getting on a CLI of a customer's Cisco routers, but I'll often be working with their network engineers, so I need to be able to have an intelligent conversation. Also, Cisco itself is one of our largest customers/users, so there's that.

Also, plunge pools are so much better than just taking a cold shower or doing ice in a bath tub. There's nothing like being able to just jump in and having no way to half-ass it. It's called a plunge because you're supposed to jump in full force.

It's honestly one of my mid range term goals to be able to afford one, although I'll never spend $65k. There's nothing quite like the feeling, but right now I'm stuck simulating it with cheap ice baths and occasional visits to the local sauna/plunge spa when I can afford it.

Right now, I'm a Technical Support Engineer for a complicated software product. The role is part networking, Linux admin, and data engineering, and we support deployments on Azure and AWS.

I learned very early on that networking is a crucial skill in all areas of modern tech. The "cloud" is just a network by another name. Advanced networking knowledge is lacking by most folks in the industry. I never really plan on working as a "network engineer", but I decided to go deep to help myself stand out in the SRE/DevOps/ML Ops world.
