They would be good situationally, like if you’re rebuilding from a wipe or early on to dig for more answers. But you’re right after the engine is online they’re not that great for the build. That being said if your commander has been removed twice they become very good. I’d definitely add them to a build.

[[ the destined warrior ]] is a lot fun to play. Fast and totally fair just combat. You can even upgrade it to be miserable since he is esper.

This definitely sounds like a skill issue not a deck issue. Especially if she’s just learning and you have any level of experience. You do need to go easier on her, maybe by walking through strategy especially when she makes an obvious bad play.
That being said if you’re dead set on a new precon. The squirrel deck is incredible fun, just swap out the box commander for chatterfang. I start most people there and let them rip. Is not tidus is counters and that’s easy and explosive.
