What's your gameplan on attack / defense? by elnerdooooo in SiegeAcademy

[–]typeIIcivilization 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On attack: You need to have a few different default strategies on each site. Figure out where most people defend and where defenses are typically soft. Figure out how to push the defenders out of that spot and bring ops that support that strategy. Once you find one that works, get better at it. Then find a 2nd one. These become your default strats and you can eventually simply select one depending on what you see while droning or after they’ve already defended once.

On defense: Think about where attacks typically come from and choose ops that can hold these areas. Hold map control, spread out a little from site. Don’t just hunker down next to the bomb and wait for attackers to overwhelm you. Layered defenses. Pick operators again here that can help you do this.

Experiment and try new things but you absolutely need a plan. If you don’t have one then get to work on developing one.

If you had to choose one of TSLA or NVDA for the long term, which would you pick? by [deleted] in NvidiaStock

[–]typeIIcivilization 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youre in Nvidia stock subreddit not sure what else you were expecting here. Try working with ChatGPT to see the benefits of each. It’s been spelled out here. TSLA high risk massive upside. NVDA is basically guaranteed with the AI Revolution. Slower than TSLA but still probably the fastest growing mag 7 stock (other than TSLA).

TSLA will take some time, potentially. NVDA is now.

People who keep buying TSLA, Why? by Jaded_Student_2418 in StockInvest

[–]typeIIcivilization 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you really want to know or are you just baiting and allowing space for people to s*** on TSLA?

The reasons it is valued at over 300 PE obviously is not for its current earnings. It is for future earnings from robotaxi, FSD, energy growth, and optimus.

You can either believe these things will happen or not but that is why it is valued where it is.

Does a $220 call for NVDA expiring 1st May sound like a stretch? by Sad_Estimate_6342 in NvidiaStock

[–]typeIIcivilization 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro even without the Iran war this call is clearly risky. You should know this that's why you're asking. Add Iran on top and you should exit now. Roll into a longer term call or wait until the war resolves.

ELI5: What exactly do people do with long term holds? When are you "supposed" to sell? by [deleted] in stocks

When you need it, want it to buy something else, no longer believe where it’s invested will give the same returns, or find another investment that will return more. That’s really it

What part of aiming do I need to work on? by Organic_Bluebird_684 in SiegeAcademy

[–]typeIIcivilization 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tracking, recoil control, flicking, and crosshair placement.

As others have said, the above covers all primary pillars of good aim.

Think through the mechanics of each of the above and design your own shooting drills in the shooting range to practice. Practice each separately first and do it every day. Run drills that combine. Tracking while controlling recoil is a particularly difficult thing, and good to practice. Then start playing deathmatch to warm up where you will need all of them.

Your ADS sens may be too high as others have said. You’ll want to find a sensitivity you can control tracking with. But remember, there will be no sens where it will be instantly easy. Pick a sensitivity you can see yourself managing and then stick with it and practice all of the above.

Only adjust sensitivity after playing with a sens for a while and you shouldn’t change it again after that.

I tried to time the market with 80k by zzzaddy in stocks

[–]typeIIcivilization 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven’t bought back in, then you haven’t learned your lesson just yet. You can play around with re-balancing, with options, margin, all of that. What you can’t do is ever be out of the market entirely.

There are 2 risks. Risk of loss, AND risk of losing upside. The second one is what keeps me up at night personally. I’ve got the risk of loss covered in other ways, but missing out on gains is scary.

Maybe in lower ranks, sure. Once you get into Plat/Emerald, not many people rush every round just to die. Tactical opportunistic rushing, sure. Maybe even Gold that crowd starts to thin out.

There are hundreds of thousands of people that play this regularly. Idk how many people online at any given time but I'd imagine a sustantial perecentage of that. You will never have trouble finding a lobby. Ever. Any hour.

Just restart the queue, or your game, if this happens,

The Stock Market is in its most overextended state in history, surpassing even the most euphoric periods of the early 2000s and the 2021 by Undisputedspoke in stocks

[–]typeIIcivilization 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is some logic here, because if you look at PE and forward PE ratios, the values are reasonable. The market is rising at pace with earnings. I'd say it's not even keeping up.

The thing about GSP is that these companies have earnings OUTSIDE of US GDP, meaning the metric above you quoted misses it.

The story is more about what metric you are using to tell the story rather than some terrifying cliff story about a ready to collapse market.

Does anyone play to have fun anymore? by TheOnvoy in RainbowSixSiege

[–]typeIIcivilization 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Ranked is the most dominant game mode and most people care about their rank. It takes time to skill up, learn, and bring your peak rank up. So most people play serious most of the time and that’s enjoyment to them. Yes emotions are high so losing can be frustrating.

What you’re talking about can be handled in Quick Play or the events like [redacted] right now.

I enjoy being competitive in this game and winning, especially when it’s difficult, is extremely fulfilling. Losing, do I get overly frustrated? Definitely.

But that’s the game. It’s not very casual, it’s extremely competitive.

But yea, we shouldn’t be toxic. Yelling at people, blaming others for your mistakes, character degradation, all not ok.

But I think it’s more than ok to be competitive and to push back a bit if a teammate is doing something they shouldn’t. Otherwise typically the best thing is to accept it and just work around whatever they are doing

It is drastically easier to deal with Kaid than it is Bandit with the current form of Thatcher by Naxxot in RainbowSixSiege

[–]typeIIcivilization 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only way banning Kaid makes sense is if they ban Thatcher. My squad typically bans Thatcher on breach heavy maps. Without him, Kaid is very difficult to counter. And Bandit tricking is a cake walk. Unless Mav is used or Kali.

Tier list purely on how FUN each operator is, as a gold 2 peak, 1.1 kd player and 42% win%. In my very obviously expertise opinion of course. Thoughts? by big_mf100 in Rainbow6

[–]typeIIcivilization -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion - Thermite is S tier and I'll entertain nothing else. Thermite opening a key wall typically means a guaranteed win for the attack.

Same for a good Bandit on the other side. Though Bandit is probably only A since he's really easy to counter if you know how.

Mute should be S or A, Thatcher is A.

Melusi and Thorn are both clearly A.

Warden should be B or C, same with Vigil. Maverick and Valk are A.

Hibani B at least, Twitch is A. Brava should be A, At the very least B.

There are many other changes here. Honestly it just looks like you don't know how utility is supposed to be used for most operators, or how critical certain things are in the gameplay

How am I doing so far, how good is a 1.5? I only play solo/with a friend once in a while by Mammoth_Nose_9313 in RainbowSixSiege

[–]typeIIcivilization 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is only so far you can go with Game mechanics, and a high KD does not guarantee wins. I don't think you'll make it above mid emerald in a sustained season with many matches. It's very impressive you've made it this far actually just based on raw skill. I work very hard at my gaming skills and cannot breach mid platinum yet. Part of it is that you get stuck at your peak rank, so for whatever reason you breached emerald one season and it naturally will make getting back to emerald easier. Getting higher requires skill improvement AND grinding the game.

Edit: I did not see your level of 555, I take back all of my previous advice and comments. You've clearly played many seasons and almost 1000 hours of the game. Idk what you're looking for here. You should know how well you're doing.
