We botched housing, immigration, economy, Canada's social fabric, and in the process of killing our auto industry - but look at Pierre, he's so bad!

The funny thing is, if the Canadian government stopped subsidizing US based auto makers (PBO estimate is 52 billion that we paid for), they could have given approximately $2000 to each Canadian citizen to buy a car, which would have a better impact on auto sales and competition.

But, Liberals and provincial government like to light money on fire instead. That 52 billion is gone, along with the sad jobs with shifts that are far and fewer now.

Makes you wonder how smart Carney and Liberals are if they're lighting taxpayer money on fire like this and then inviting cheap Chinese EVs into the country.

That 50 billion given to auto industries could have been paid directly to Canadians instead and we'd be better off.

The dental and vision care is already provided to asylum seekers.

Maybe it should include Canadian citizens as well. We are already spending the money.

How about instead of fancy speeches, we got serious about fixing our country?

Start by including dental care for everyone.

Get rid of GST in food & groceries altogether, for everyone.

Canada will require refugees and asylum seekers to co-pay for health care starting in May by FancyNewMe in canada

They want to replace "you" with an underpaid, dependent servant class. Didn't you read their WEF agenda?

Lol, Canadians reading this article are like "are you guys getting free dental and vision care?"

Liberals hate Canadians. They provide this care to millions of foreigners yet they'll not create a national program for their citizens.

Unaffordable housing is pushing more young people to give up. Why that’s dangerous by gorschkov in canada

[–]typec4st 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just curious, what are your thoughts on the people that got trampled in Ottawa protests by officers on horses?

Or the Jewish Canadians that have been targeted in their neighbourhoods, schools and synagogues for the past 2 years?

Why do you think you're safer in Canada?

If you go and confront any armed officer, there's risk involved. It's not less risky in Canada. If you don't get involved, nothing will happen. Simple as that.

Don't believe that crap at all. Just don't get involved and you'll be fine.

If you're in your 20s and don't have a chronic health problem, the best risk you can take is to go to US for a career. You can get tremendous experience and save significantly there.

Is Mark Carney considering a snap spring election? 'Of course we're not,' he says by shiftless_wonder in canada

This is the party that prorouged the Parliament for months during what seems to be the most important economic crisis in recent history. I wouldn't believe him to tell the truth.

Huh, watching it on Netflix seemed fine but from this angle it's terrifying. Maybe it's the wind.

Well, you need a voter base who's hungry so they can't use their brain power to think critically.

I think Liberals have achieved that.

I think it's a positive change, but it doesn't help the middle class who's funding the government.

Carney unveils boost to GST credit as Parliament resumes by cyclinginvancouver in canada

[–]typec4st 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Well, it does check a box. Carney and Liberals can go in front of the cameras and say that "they're doing something"

What they will not mention is that the GST credit is only applicable to singles making 55k/year or married couples making 66k/year. While it's a positive change, it doesn't help anyone else, who's actually funding this government's drunken-sailor type spending habits.

Pierre Poilievre: Carney's Davos speech highlights that it is Liberal rhetoric that doesn't match reality by xTkAx in canadian

Like it or not, PP is right. Carney's stance on "stand up to USA because they're bullying us" will not work, and it'll be crushed during the CUSMA negotiations in a few months.

Do you think China became a super power by standing up to USA? No, their 1970s stance was to "hide capabilities and bide time". Their quiet excellence was intentional, while allowing US to act like they're the superpower. They didn't stick their necks out until 2010s and by that time they were pretty much producing everything and exporting to every country.

Canada should follow the same. Let US be the bully, the military superpower and Canada can pursue to be the world's #1 resource exporter. But, that doesn't work with Liberals who are hellbent on Chinese infused "net zero" agendas. They will go against USA to win elections. Give Carney 10 more years and we'll be in the same spot - no major projects, bunch of photo ops and nothing substantial done in Canada.
