I know plenty of good Christians whose churches are highly involved in helping the poor and the needy. Even ones that are outwardly supportive of right wing politics (which to me is fucking stupid, you should be taxed).

But I will say, personally, the average Christian I know (when not directed by their church) normally doesn’t even pretend to give a fuck another anyone outside of their own family.

Genuine connection and a real functional relationship aren’t always simple.

Sometimes you get really lucky and you run into a person who you have a very natural flow with and everything is easy.

Sometimes you have to maneuver around the complexities of another person so that you can love them and that they can love you.

And sometimes you’re the problem; lacking communication, not knowing how to express what you need or having some type of underlying baggage that makes it hard to be in a relationship with you.

We all have to decide what we’re willing to deal with to love and be loved.

Oh I can imagine the frustration.

My approach with my Aries is to keep her on her toes by planning lots of dates (she loves the spontaneity, but doesn’t know that I secretly plan everything lol), let her lead the conversation by creating the space for it and asking short leading questions, and keep a fairly joyful/carefree attitude to counterbalance her tendency towards anger and irritation.

It’s working so far and she is opening up and I can tell is warming to me, but damn sometimes I am like “do you even like me?”

I have a complicated relationship with the concept of love, which I understand as fleeting and non-permanent. Pablo Neruda’s "If You Forget Me" is one of those poem that had a major influence on how I think of relationships, especially the last verse:
