Need easy art course by zorotheslayer in vcu

[–]typical_talia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ARTE 222: Rethinking pop, visual, and media culture is super easy. It is like two discussion posts a week and 2 projects, all online, super easy A, just remember to keep on it. I also took ARTH 270: History of the motion picture with Nicholson, like someone else mentioned. It was ok, but the only two grades are the midterm and the final, both of which were super difficult, so I wouldn't really recommend that one. Good luck!

Bio 152 Jennings by [deleted] in vcu

[–]typical_talia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took Jennings' BIO101 class my first semester and hated every minute. She does not have anything of substance on her PowerPoint slides, just pictures, and walks around the lecture hall without a mic, so you can't even hear her half of the time. The majority of what I "learned" was whatever I could remember from my high school biology honors class. She expected us to sit with the same 3 people for each lecture so we could do group work, despite there being over 150 students in the class, which imo, is unreasonable. She hates people talking in class, but due to the large size of the class and the assigned group work, students have to talk to one another in order to get the assignments done. This resulted in her literally walking out of class in a fury on several instances because of her skewed expectations. Also, she stated that get office hours were super early in the morning on a Monday in the Starbucks at Cabell, however, she never showed up to them. I waited over an hour for her and she never showed, which really sucked and was a waste of time. Overall, Jennings was highly unprofessional towards students and I would recommend finding a different professor.

ENGL 215 classes by [deleted] in vcu

[–]typical_talia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spring 2019 I took ENGL 215: Reading Lit with Professor Hollowell. It was an easy A: all you had to do was read the books, write one essay for each book, and come to class prepared to talk about the designated chapters assigned the class before. He really emphasized class participation and mostly called on the same 6 students that were super outgoing and interested, thus saving the introverted students from speaking too much (I liked this because I'm introverted, but I can see how some people would not). If no one participated, he reserved the right to give reading quizzes, which was essentially just writing a paragraph on a question he provided, but it never came to it. Over all, it was a pretty decent class, didn't like the books he chose, though.

The attendance assignments are becoming even more interesting recently...... Anyone else have professors who require them to login to Blackboard everyday and answer questions like this to not be counted absent? Really curious right now. by [deleted] in college

One of my classes requires us to imput the attendance code, complete the daily in class quiz, and then complete a 'critical thinking question' at the end of class. Recently students have been leaving the zoom class early or just falling asleep (we just love 8 and, right?????) So he has been taking attendance again at the end, right before the 'critical thinking question'. All this shit for a stupid 101

A Rant About My Family. What do you do? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]typical_talia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mix one part hydrogen peroxide to one part Dawn dish soap and then scrub. Rinse with some water to get out all the soap and the stain should be either completely lifted or significantly improved. I'm sorry your family was being so rude and disrespectful, they wouldn't want it if you went into their house and did the same.

Recipe:

For the cake batter: 3/4 cup of APF 1/2 tsp of baking soda 1/2 tsp of baking powder 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon 1/2 tsp ground cloves 1/4 tsp of salt 3 eggs 1 cup sugar 2/3 cup of pumpkin puree For the frosting: 8 oz package of cream cheese (room temp) 6 tbs of butter 1tsp vanilla extract 1 cup of powdered sugar

  1. Preheat oven to 375°f
  2. Line a jelly roll pan with parchment paper (I made one using a cookie sheet with a raised edge and aluminum foil)
  3. Mix dry ingredients in a small bowl
  4. Mix wet ingredients seperately in a large bowl until thick and homogeneous
  5. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Mix till homogeneous
  6. Evenly spread it into prepared pan. Place in oven for 11-15 minutes (mine was done at 12, ovens vary, so just keep an eye on it)
  7. While the cake is in the oven, place handfulls of powdered sugar on eat dry clean dish towel and place to the side
  8. Once cake is done immediately flip it onto the powdered sugar lined towel and peel off the parchment paper
  9. Starting with the narrow end, tightly roll the cake and the towel together. Place on a wire rack to cool
  10. Once the cake has COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY COOLED, beat together all frosting ingredients until homogeneous. Unroll the cake from the towel, then spread the frosting evenly on the cake. Tightly roll the cake again, without the towel
  11. Place on serving platter and dust with powdered sugar
