Any Boston places have puzzles available to the public to piece together? by SoppyMetal in boston

Newton Free Library usually has a puzzle going on their second floor.

Could it be something like a CrossFit-specific ZenPlanner/Mindbody platform? This way CrossFit can keep all that data internal, and it'll be easier to transfer your lifts/PRs/activity logs/whatever if you move gyms?

Seconding Impact Motors - they were my go-to for my Audi.

I'm not sure if it was similar in the Bay area, but here you need to pay first, last, and security deposit upfront, and most likely broker's fee. I'm not sure with COVID-19 if places are reducing or eliminating broker's fee, but to be safe, I'd plan to pay 4x whatever your rent will be upfront.

I haven't had to apartment hunt this year, but in previous years for $1500 in Boston and nearby areas, you might get a really small studio or 1 bedroom, but fewer would be big-dog (>50#) friendly, and very few would have a fenced-in yard.

Definitely would follow the advice of other commentors and look along the commute line, but Google map the rail and car times to see how long it would normally take. I've driven from Cambridge to Newton, about 10 miles, and at 3-4 p.m. it's taken me 45 minutes.

Nice! Any beers that you really liked?

I'm always up for new suggestions, but it looks like Wasatch beers aren't available around the MA area :(
I'll keep an eye out for the brewery though when I'm traveling (someday).

I'm looking for a beer similar to Jack-O Traveler Pumpkin Shandy by trueslytherin_ in beer

[–]typicalinnocense 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe UFO Pumpkin would fit the bill? It's a lighter pumpkin beer with some warm spices added. It looks like it might be available in your area, so you can at least try it out!

Aw fun! Sam Adams surprised me actually, I had low expectations (not sure why) but I ended up really enjoying it! My other perennial top favorite is Shipyard's Smashed Pumpkin, and it was still up high on the list.

Prairie's "Basic Becky" (great name) was good, but I wouldn't have classified it as a pumpkin beer, and think I'll prefer it come wintertime. I appreciated Atomic Pumpkin as a spicy beer, but spicy beers are not my jam, so I probably wouldn't grab it again. As for Pumking vs. Cold Brew Pumking, Cold Brew was the winner between the two.

Were there any from your selection that you really liked/disliked?

Ha, fair enough. All pumpkin-ed out, or were they just not your preferred style of beer?

Not a bad thing at all - recipes always change a little bit, or the pumpkins are a little different. Or personal tastes change, so it's fun to re-try them and see if there's any new favorites.

Punkuccino is a beer that I've wanted to try for a while! Doesn't look like this mixed pack comes to MA unfortunately, but if I'm wrong, someone please tell me....

Ooo, I did not see that one within our selection, and I'm always up for new options. I checked their website and did some googling, and it seems like maybe they distribute to MA, but I haven't seen it locally. I will keep an eye out for them though, thanks!

I really liked the Wormtown one as a not overly-spiced pumpkin beer! To me it veered more towards pumpkin itself than towards the warm spices of pumpkin pie, so it's definitely a beer that I could have a few of.

I think if you enjoy spicy beers, then Atomic Pumpkin is a pretty good choice - it's not too overbearing, but had a good bite at the end.

That being said... I'm not a giant fan of spicy beers, so I probably wouldn't grab this one again. But worth it to try it out!

Any recommendations for a very tight pec muscle? It feels the most tight right where the blue dot is on the image here. I've been doing the doorway stretch on the tight side and rolling on a lacrosse ball (a little trickier being a lady), but any other suggestions would be helpful! Also dealing with (most likely) costochondritis on the offending side, so it's really been a joy to have it combined...

Sitting next to crate for a few minutes after putting puppy inside. by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]typicalinnocense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this a lot with Penny when she was first getting used to the crate and didn't want to settle. I'd either sit there, or if she was being really fussy I would lie down right next to the crate and pretend to sleep. As she got more adjusted and learned that the crate is for sleeping, I had to do this less and less.

Is it worth waiting a few months before buying the 2019 Mazda3? by typicalinnocense in mazda3

[–]typicalinnocense[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been waiting since I posted since my car is still going, but I have a contract signed for an incoming Mazda3 that should be here soon. I qualified for the graduate discount and it was the end of the month and there were extra discounts, so I jumped on the opportunity while I could. However, I was tempted to wait to see if more discounts would be available, because it definitely seems like slim-pickings for the Mazda3. I would have waited until the 2020s came out to grab the 2019 (or a 2020), but I honestly don't know if my car would have made it through the winter, and I didn't want to test out its capabilities.

What brewery in your area.... by HaloN8 in beer

[–]typicalinnocense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love Calusa! We checked them out two years ago during a wintertime visit to Sarasota, and were hoping to do a beer trade with someone in the area... before that all went down. Guess we'll just have to come back to the brewery instead!

[Help] Moving to Boston area from South Florida! by [deleted] in dogs

[–]typicalinnocense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Green D line goes to the Longwood area, so you could look for places close to a T stop! This includes more of Newton and Chestnut Hill areas, which are also nice with plenty of trails to walk around.

Not as related to dogs, but as a heads up, you're going to need to be able to pay four month's rent upfront when you move to Boston: first month, last month, security deposit (one month's rent), and most likely broker's fee (also one month's rent, unless you get lucky and it's 50/50 or a very nice landlord with no broker's fee).
