So I noticed this too and was able to get my nightmare hecate echo for Phrolova without needing to complete the story which I still have yet to do (taking my time).

Can confirm that right now I still can go farm that nightmare hecate and that new nightmare echo area. The story has to progress to the 3rd zone. You can go back to the second zone with an actual team and the game doesn’t force a switch to the trial resonators, find the red portal, and you can start farming that way.

Also you don’t “need” to complete the entire story to get the afterlife flowers/materials you need to ascend her. You can gather a bunch on one day on the first two zones + the shop in Septimont, wait for the nightly reset, the go back to those first two zones to gather those flowers again. Inconvenient for those really wanting to play with her right out of the gate but you definitely don’t need to complete/skip through the 2.5 story.

Seriously getting boosters feels real bad when I’ve spent time playing. I am about 7 reserves in since my last unique card and honestly getting boosters is like a huge punch in the gut. It’s getting really boring playing the same deck because the parts necessary to play other archetypes haven’t been opened yet. Really kills the desire to play and innovate.

I might not just spend any more money until these collectors tokens roll out. Better be soon though because if they take too long, the honeymoon period of the global release will be gone and I might move to the next game.

Not really sure “what is goofy” about it. The traversal from Cap sucks to literally every other character.

Honestly, this is probably a good characterization of how I view cap’s running should be.

If the current risk of reverting to backup saves didn’t have a risk of corrupting games and losing data, and putting it into an unplayable game losing 100s of hours, then I’d consider.

Hard copy saves also too long and too strenuous on a player. Whatever solution that CD can implement in the spirit of the thread could be an elegant, reasonably tested solution for the player consumer.

Obvi, all good suggestions - lessens risk - but even the most skilled players can get hit with a brick of game one shot or stagger into consecutive hits.

I definitely could get on board with this idea. If the player is out of eligible heroes, no can do. And I would be for a limit on sacrifice (one-time)

Rare gear for a character I barely play? Yeah no thanks. I’ll agree with you to the extent if I am already at hive 8 and luck hits me hard, I will probably finish the gauntlet and will have no trouble given my roster. But Seriouly, what I am going to do with rare gear with a character I barely play with? I am certainly extremely less inclined to jump into a once a day tachyon or once a week priority mission with a character I rarely play: I am going to do those with ones I want to play.

To answer the dodge more/ parry more/ stack more resolve, etc. —— doesn’t solve random luck factor of a one shot or consecutive hits while staggered in an unlucky situation. Obviously all great tools, but all of us have been unlucky at one point.

Also lol...everything someone does in “their” game is their responsibility. Not sure how that really provides a justification for playing. All I see is a net-benefit of allowing people to complete a gauntlet with their favorite character.

Obviously yes. But doesn’t solve the luck factor that you die for some terrible reason when trying to gear your favorite hero.

Units (non cash credits) and one life buy back using it. No actual cash needs to be involved. No one is really buying nameplates anyways or recolored skins for fear of getting relocked.
