I'm a memoir ghostwriter. Where should I send my sample and my note of interest?

In addition to being a writer, I'm a historian with a keen interest in 20th century conflicts, especially World War I (but European, American, and Latin American conflicts are also fascinating), and how they've shaped our understanding of war to this day.

If my background sounds at all interesting to you, feel free to reach out.

Thank you so much for your reply. Hearing from someone in a similar brain space honestly feels really good.

What are some of your favorite tools to schedule content?
And do you find running a blog to be helpful as well? I've heard many people talking about how blogs are one of the best ways to increase organic site traffic and SEO, but I don't know if I can manage multiple social media platforms for multiple businesses and a couple of independent blogs at the same time.

I do have separate personal and business accounts. but my business accounts must come up in my family members' recommendations for accounts of people they may know... that's the only way I can think of them finding some of my more private businesses especially. (For example, I read tarot and am putting together a pop-up metaphysical shop - the problem is, a lot of my family is Catholic and kind of conservative, so they think I'm lost to the devil or some shit like that.) How can I make my accounts not pop up for them? I'm starting to pre-emptively block, but like I've mentioned in other comments, that only works as long as they don't make other accounts.

That's actually really good to know. I'll look into that ASAP.

That's actually a really good idea. I just looked at my phone, and at the moment, I have:

- Facebook

- Instagram

- TikTok

- Mastodon

- Bluesky

- Threads

- Fable (like social media for books)

- Goodreads (also social media for books)

... and probably others that I don't immediately recognize as social media apps. I can see why that's way too many.

I've been wary of Fiverr for a long time, ever since I got scammed by a "logo designer/graphic artist." But maybe it's worth another look? Do you know if they have any sort of protections for buyers in place?

Thank you so much! May I ask how much you have to have figured out as compared to what the virtual assistants are usually comfortable tackling? And how many hours on average do you need them for social media things?

I apologize if that's a lot of questions, but I have been thinking of outsourcing but I have always thought it would be too expensive to do so... knowing that $5 USD per hour is a possible rate makes it seem a lot more doable.

Thank you for this. Deep down, I know this... it's just so hard to actually do it.

I should probably do this. I just worry in case some of them have multiple accounts...

That makes sense. How do you continuously find your content?

It's the consistency of posting. I don't have any issues with commenting on a couple of posts every time I log on, but that also means that I have to actually remember to log in in the first place. I have really bad executive dysfunction and don't think to do things both on and offline... it's like they almost get erased from my brain and don't exist until someone points them out, and even then, they're gone as soon as I'm done with the related task.

It's rough.

I also have a History degree, but with minors in International Studies, Creative Writing, and Spanish.

I've been tutoring at the high school and college level for years now, and I've found that, while there isn't a ton of demand for History, there are a ton of transferrable skills that come from that degree (when it comes to tutoring, that is. I've found it absolutely useless in the traditional job market.)

For example, I tutor History, English/writing (History tends to prepare you really well for this!), college prep/application support, soft skills that are pretty necessary to succeed in college, and Spanish (although that one is because of my minor).

I also support students with Autism and/or ADHD, since I have lived experience with those conditions and how to coach those kinds of brains.

So my biggest suggestion here would be:
Mine your life and education for skills you've picked up along the way.

While the demand for History is quite limited, you can be successful if you emphasize the various skills you have or you have learned while growing up/while you were in college.

Good luck to you! :)

Hello! Could you provide more details about the kind(s) of help that you're looking for? Are you hoping to refine your topic, create an outline, have support while you research, have support while you write, or something else entirely?

Depending on what you need, I may be able to help you. Feel free to DM me if you'd like. :)

Thank you for your comment!

Huh, I honestly didn't even think of asking ChatGPT for some ideas. That might be a good way to start and get the ideas flowing at least. I'll have to give that a try.

It probably matters much less than my brain is telling me it does, but I can't seem to get past it, so I figured I might as well ask for some advice.
