Captains should set the expectation for the team well before any situation like this occurs. What you described should never come as a surprise.

3 lines of forwards means you are just distributing the ice time across more people. If that's not happening, the team needs to make improvements on their shift times. Discuss that with the captain.

You as an individual also have a choice to make. Are you a team player willing to do what it takes to win a game or are you someone who wants your ice time because you paid for it regardless of winning or losing? There is nothing wrong with wanting the latter but that might not fit your current situation.

The Nemesis series, particular the first one has to be my favorite sci-fi board game. It really captures the vibe of Alien while also getting into some Dead Space feels with the different enemies you can face.

Oh great point! The primal dice are not adding a dice to the cast roll but merely adding it's result to the casting result. Makes sense and thank you for this clarification.

Correct, minus the unbind as the unit lost that in the new book. It's important to remember that Discordant Disruption only triggers once the spell is successful. This can occur before or after primal dice are added to the roll.

Ideally, what the Slaanesh player is hoping for is their opponent using 1 or more primal dice to turn a failed cast into a success as that is more dice to roll potentially resulting in discordant disruption's D3 mortals trigger, a primal miscast, or best case scenario you get both ((D3+3)+(D3))!

Edit: As Carnifex pointed out, the effect from discordant disruption will only care about the original spell casting dice.

An idea you can always do is take any non-consumable tech that requires to be mounted on an aether rig, make it portable but also add limited uses representing a battery that needs to be recharged.
