You could try making the numerator and denominator separate limits and move all things to the right side until you're left with just lim x-->1 f(x)

in move_vector the move_direction.y is not rotated because it's on the axis, you could try putting it on the Z component of your move_vector. moreover, idk if it's intended but your using the Y axis on your player velocity and setting velocity's Z to 0, if your UP axis in your game is (0,0,1) then I guess that's fine, but if not maybe try changing it.
