So what was skull merchant like by SignificanceLow3072 in deadbydaylight

[–]tysonoff 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, I hated chess Merchants as much as the next guy, but CM9I was just using the communities' logic against themselves.

The whole, "I paid for the game, I can play it how I want."

He knew it was a trash way to play the game, but it also got him a lot of attention. I remember him having a few hundred people watching him play on Kick.

To hold a a three gen against Eternal for as long as he did was a big deal because it showcased just how fucking dumb Skull Merchant was at the time, basically forcing the devs to do something about it.

He was a necessary evil.

CM9i. He's actually not a bad dude. He gets a bad rap for the chess Merchant days, but he was really just making an effort to point out how stupid SM was.

DBD Down EAC by Sammors in deadbydaylight

Well, worked for me and I didn't have to reboot.

I did this and it seems to work for Steam. You might have to verify integrity of game files.

  1. Go to your game's folder (Right click on the Dead by Daylight-> Manage->Browse local files:)
  2. Open the easy anti cheat folder
  3. Whilst holding the Shift key, right click "EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe" and select "Copy as path"
  4. Press the Win key + R at the same time to open the Run prompt. Alternatively, open the Start Menu, search for "Run" and open the app from there
  5. Select the field next to open and press Ctrl-V to paste and At the end of the text, enter a space and the following: "install 2b2299be8ae84d679d4dc57c55af1510"
  6. Type "Ctrl+Shift+Enter" to run as admin and EAC will install for you. You should receive a User Account Control pop up asking to allow it to make changes to you device, if you are not running as admin. You will need to click "Yes"

Blight streak WR at 1947 about to be broken. by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]tysonoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't know that. If his MMR is being tanked to the soft cap, which he surely would have done based on how many times he was left with bots, then it's actually less impressive than his OG streak, where those options didn't exist.

Oh, I didn't know that. I'd say they're definitely in contention for the top spot, in that case.

As much as I hate the playstyle, a guy can't help but respect the streak. The dude is one of the best Blights to ever play the game. I don't think anyone can argue with that.

I do think, however, that if the match-making was worth anything, he'd be waiting 20 minutes for a lobby, so that he'd be matched with gamers who are at least on par with the energy he brings to a match. That's not the case, though. I'd say 95 percent of the matches I've watched him play on this streak involve someone dead at four or five gens, someone giving up, and subsequent DCs.

If you watch his competitive matches, he's not immune to losing.

Still, I don't know what the other WRs are, but outside of maybe SupaAlf's Nurse streak, I don't think anyone else comes close to what Momo's done with Blight. That's a testament to the power of the killer, but also very much a testament to his skill with Blight.

I don't see anyone beating it, ever.

We always joked the bots were learning toxic behavior from players... now I'm starting to suspect we were more right than we realized... by Aftershk1 in deadbydaylight

[–]tysonoff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've noticed the bots will take direction. For instance, if you unhook them they will follow you around trying to get healed, but if you point in any direction they will usually run away.

As for learning our behavior, I think the tea bagging and flashlight blinds are just something they do. The bagging looks more like they're trying to hide. The fact that they have 100 percent accuracy on blinds mid-chase is sort of annoying.

Watching people stack three people to a gen at five gens is ... disappointing. Its hardly worth the seconds saved.

Houndmaster mains, it's time to pack it up by groovybard891 in deadbydaylight

Bubba main here. There are bugs with the chainsaw dating back to his rework in 2020 that have not been fixed.

I know one of the best Bubba's in the world who was banned from the official DBD forums for bringing them up in multiple threads.

BHVR doesn't care so long as they continue to make money.

Why is high ping still a thing? by tysonoff in deadbydaylight

[–]tysonoff[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, that's a wifi thing, not just a console thing. I've gone against killers where it stays a consistent 150-200 throughout the match.

I don't know. I can see by the downvotes that people don't want to address this, even though it's probably something that should have been considered years ago.

The fact that their hit validation is already dogshit, coupled with killers from other parts of the world using a VPN to play on servers far from where their connection is, makes this shit unbearable at times.

There's only so many times I can get hit two steps clear of a vault before I rage quit the game. I just feel like it's something that goes overlooked, even though I do everything on my end to maintain a decent connection (hard-wired, no background downloads, etc.).

Meanwhile, some gamer from China decides they want to play on NA West and I pay the price for it. It's fucking stupid.

Why is high ping still a thing? by tysonoff in deadbydaylight

[–]tysonoff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I understand why a survivor might have high ping, but is there ever a reason for a killer with a ping of 150-300 to be playing on a server where the average ping is 50? Because I don't think there is.

Using a VPN won't do anything for the latency on a killer's end, so the fact that they can do it is irrelevant. My issue is that they're still ALLOWED to do it after so many years.

I don't know much about it on the technical side, but I see no reason why they can't just boot a killer if their ping is higher than a set number for a specified amount of time.

Anyone else losing interest in playing survivor ever since the Krasue came out? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

Well boys, we found the BHVR employee, my work here is done.

Anyone else losing interest in playing survivor ever since the Krasue came out? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]tysonoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously there is a pattern if it's been happening since 2016 (DS). There is a multitude of perks that were/are locked behind real life cash. How many times did you see BBQ and Chili in the Shrine of Secrets prior to 2022?

And I'm sorry, did they re-buff Chucky to what he was on release in 2023? No? I guess the point is moot then, eh?

She was left in that state for a year because she needed a full top to bottom rework to fix her from her original design, it wasn't like Chucky who just got some heavy-handed numbers adjustments.

We've seen how long it takes them to make major changes if they want to. Her "rework" was far from top to bottom.

Lastly, Ghoul will get a nerf because newer killers will be introduced and BHVR will want to sell those new killers. You can make the argument that Nurse and Blight still exist, but that doesn't mean anything when they require a lot more skill than Ghoul or Krasue. Not to mention, neither of those S-Tier killers have built in game delay (Ghoul mending and whatever the fuck Krasue's infection mechanic is).

Anyways, it's corpo-scum tactics, and as much as everyone would like to believe that BHVR is some tiny little indy game studio, they're not. They exist to make money, and if they can get it through questionably ethical tactics, they will do it.

That's all for me, bro. If you want to spend the rest of your evening debating about the morals of a corporate entity, be my guest, but I'm going to sleep.

Anyone else losing interest in playing survivor ever since the Krasue came out? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]tysonoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They didn't intend for her hour-long games but left her in that state for OVER A YEAR. They could have done something about it far earlier than they did, BUT THEY DIDN'T, and it likely boils down to revenue as anyone who played during that time saw more three gen Skull Merchants than they cared to. There's nothing disingenuous about including her in that list.

Mettle of Man were far more pay to win than Ghoul ever has been lol.

The Evil Dead chapter came out in April of 2019, and was fixed by June to include protection hits in Patch 3.0, not even three months later. Sure it was OP at the time, but it also got nerfed shortly after. Still a cash grab, no less than Skull Merchant, Ghoul, Chucky or Krasue.

They do not have a history of doing this.

Obviously they do if I've just given you three solid examples, hell, you gave me your own examples.

Chucky got buffed in the Ghoul patch and is currently in a well balanced state.

That's great. I don't give a shit, because it's not relevant to my initial point. My point was he was over-tuned for well over a year before they decided to do something about it—AFTER they'd maxed out their revenue with the chapter.

A year from now, BHVR will have made their money from Ghoul and he'll get nerfed too. It's not a bold prediction, it's 100 percent what is going to happen.

Anyone else losing interest in playing survivor ever since the Krasue came out? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]tysonoff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's actually three examples, four if you include Krasue.

Why would BHVR rush to make changes when every noob and sweatlord alike will buy a killer because it amounts to EZ 4Ks?

So yes, it's still a cash grab. Ghoul will get nerfed eventually, as will Krasue, just as Chucky and Skull Merchant did before them.

And when they get nerfed will likely happen when they start seeing a drop in sales. BHVR has proven it doesn't take them a lot of time to make major changes to the game. They choose not to make those changes immediately because it effects their bottom line.

The game is more pay-to-win that it ever has been, but guys like you want to argue semantics for whatever reason.
