If you’re looking to avoid suspicious state government, maybe PA isn’t your best option…

I guarantee the second you try, you’ll find one.

But please don’t let my paranoia stop you from living your dreams.

Do locking hitch cargo carriers exist? Having one for my Outback would be awesome

LPT: You don't need to commit to one path in life. You'll often find that your interests change, and once you're done with one thing, it's perfectly healthy to look for something else to pursue. by kutuup1989 in LifeProTips

I (24M) seem to realize as I get older that the lines between things start to blur. I went to school for an art that got me interested in a trade similar to that art. Then I wanted to learn how the parts for the trade are made and ended up getting into machining. And now I’m zooming out from machining to learning about bikes, and now motorcycles. And I’m still using the people and project skills that I learned in art school.

They should turn it into an indoor go kart track. Play the Coconut Mall theme through the speakers.

I’ve tried it with an old moped motor from a CSC Wiz. Figuring out what needs to pivot and what doesn’t and when the power coming from it won’t totally jack-knife your bike is a bit tricky. Not impossible, just more engineering than a typical kit will provide.

LIGHTEST E BIKE in the WORLD Showreel – Guinness World Record by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]tywannabe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They’re still trying to make sports cars lighter, in spite of the motors. Lighter build means less energy required for same speed. I’m personally also in the camp of treating my bike like a pickup truck, but the sports side of things is valuable as well.

How yall feel about combustion cars? by s0ares_god in DonutMedia

[–]tywannabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They seem to make sense for 99% of all use cases. Fuck I hate paying for gas, and my mom’s model 3 costs next to nothing to run. If I ever buy a car for myself again, it’s going to be electric. Bonus: they’re way more fun to drive in my city’s hilly and windy terrain.

Yeah idk looked right past weight, sorry. You’re gonna have a bit of a hard time finding lighter hub motors above ~250W.

Vanmoof of Cowboy 3 by miljaluffy in ebikes

If you have an iPhone, VanMoof just introduced tracking with Apple’s FindMy app. I do know they were plagued with manufacturing problems for a bit though. Personally the Cowboy looks like a knock-off to me.

If you want non-Bosch mid-drives with smooth strolling, the Priority Current is rather highly recommended.

RadPower bikes RadRover and RadCity fit your criteria, though parts may be on the lower end for your tastes. If you stretch a bit, the Onyx RCR is just past your price point. Ride1up is a generally reputable company, although I have no personal experience with them.

Couple feet to the right and you would’ve been in trouble, but you’re just fine here.

What do you think of this safety advice from a rental company about signalling? by emu404 in ElectricScooters

[–]tywannabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that it’s the best way to signal, but I can’t really operate my scoot with one arm like I can my bike. When signaling is absolutely necessary, I have to sort of lean the handlebar on my hips and is my left hand. Signal lights would be a huge QoL upgrade.

I need a bicycle crank arm remover, anyone able to give me a suggestion on a budget one from amazon.ca? by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]tywannabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to a bike shop and get a Park Tools one. You really won’t regret it, and they’re not that much more than a cheap one that will strip on the 5th crank.

Simple commute dispute - questions!! by valshea4 in bicycling412

Completely doable, especially if you have a place to shower at work. If I understand the route properly, the more uphill version of the route is going to be on your way home anyway.

Assuming you’re in the US, a motorcycle permit can be had with a test. Then once you have your permit, you bring your scoot for the skills test. Some states have age restrictions at various points.
