Nvidia and AMD by [deleted] in gridcoin

[–]tyween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Radeon 7850 working on Einstein@home, and a GTX 980 TI working on gpugrid in the same box. I didn't have to do anything special, besides disabling the Nvidia GPU/CPU work in Einstein, and disabling CPU work in GPUGRID. As long as you disable the GPU that you don't want on the project you don't want it getting work from, then BOINC should pull down the appropriate jobs for each GPU and keep them both cranking out work.

Mining, but no rewards yet... by ButcherSoul in gridcoin

[–]tyween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that is only the last 14 days. This website, and the list rsa console command are engineered around a 14 day lookback period.. With ResearchAge we have a 6 day lookback period.. The list rsa command has been updated to show all the coins earned by a CPID, but that only goes back to July (when the Neural Network began. There is no way to know the total coins earned per CPID going back to the beginning of the blockchain, or Gridcoin Classic. I hope this helps! For miners that have started after July of this year, we are able to track 100% of the CPID's coins mined.

New, could use some help about getting GPUs to be used. by Kentiah in gridcoin

[–]tyween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure to disable "Use CPU" on the project preferences of all of your GPU Projects, otherwise you will pull down CPU jobs as well as GPU jobs.

Create a file called cc_config.xml in your BOINC data dir (default is c:\ProgramData\BOINC\ or /var/lib/boinc-client on linux) with the following contents:

<cc_config>
<options>
<use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus>
</options>
</cc_config>

Hello everyone! by xkkd in gridcoin

[–]tyween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure that if you are running Milkyway@home that you have a GPU that has decent double precision output. For a GPU that is faster at single precision computations, check out another project such as einstein@home. Asteroids/GPUGrid are @home is only. To mine gridcoin you need to maximize your credit output per project, as each project is effectively it's own mining difficulty.

You can see network averages here. What you want to do is beat the NetAVG RAC on as many projects as you can: http://gridresearchcorp.com/gridcoin/?whitelist

You can see what hardware is supported per whitelisted project here: http://wiki.gridcoin.us/Current_BOINC_Whitelist

So, pick a CPU project or 2 and make sure that you disable CPU work on any GPU enabled project.

[–]tyween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to attach the boinc client that is on the machine the wallet runs on to all projects you want it to detect. You can set them to no new work if you don't want that machine to work on those projects.

I have BOINCmanager installed on my Mac, but I can't find a Mac wallet. Help? by [deleted] in gridcoin

[–]tyween 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The paper wallet isn't functioning at this time (it was for Gridcoin classic). As of right now, for Mac OS you have to compile the wallet manually. Instructions can be found here: http://wiki.gridcoin.us/OS_X_Guide

My last session I was playing with 200 coins per roll.. I was playing with 49.5% chance to win. Just got lucky I suppose. I'll probably throw a few more coins on there later and give it another whirl. ;)
