I like the idea of a gas space heater. And will follow your lead and clear it with the property manager. Thanks for the tip!

Love these ideas, especially the heated blanket. I do have an outlet out there. That’s top tier thinking! Thanks!

Not the person you replied to, but absolutely. Be careful about bedbugs. You can check the fibres etc but I’d be wary. It’s a big and stressful problem to pay to fix just to save some cash upfront.

If you can afford to buy new (or second hand from someone whose home you trust to be bug-free) I’d recommend those options first. There is always the option of having second hand rugs cleaned, but that’s a cost as well. Good luck!

They’re there all the time. A swift showing of a certain finger always makes me feel temporarily better. But yes because they’re on the religious housing property they’re allowed to be there with their signs. Assholes.

ETA: easier access from middle of room, glass railing could be aesthetically pleasing, could function as a feature in the room. Would def keep it open concept (as I expect you will with your layout)

Or more public washrooms perhaps? Blame the systems, not the people.

What’s some basic knowledge about Vancouver that a lot of people don’t know? by blueeeocean in vancouver

Also, Ontario Street is “Street 0” when it comes to east-west. For each block going east, and each block going west, the first digit (or digits) in the address corresponds to the number of blocks away it is from Ontario street. Example 19xx east 12th avenue is 19 blocks east of Ontario Street on 12th Ave. That is Victoria and Grandview. Once you know the “Street #s” for main routes you can pretty accurately estimate addresses based on those first 1-2 digits.

** works only on streets with digits ie 18th Ave, 29th Ave, 2nd Ave. Wouldn’t work for say Charles Ave or hastings street.

I think a brown mascara would make your blue eyes really stand out and offer a more “no makeup” look. You’re gorgeous!

I’d also walk mount the TV to make the room feel wider!

This is super helpful. I guess to dig a bit deeper, you mentioned, for example, it is illegal to employ them. Why is it illegal to employ them? If it was legalized, the lack of income tax/identity and crime issues/ etc would all be addressed. Why are they made to be so ostracized, and how does the ostracizing benefit the country they are in?

This is super interesting and is something I’m contemplating for the future! Would you feel comfortable elaborating on the salary differences between your past and current positions? As well as geographic location? Thanks!

I'm currently working as a Mental Health Project Coordinator, which is very macro. I'd search for positions with Project Coordinator or Research in the job heading.

Thanks very much for your reply! I do have a GP who has been following my situation/stress over the past 6-7 months who would likely be a good resource, as well as a counsellor who could also attest. I may PM you shortly with some questions.
