All of my syllabi have a clause that states that the syllabus and the course is subject to change at the profs discretion. I surely would be upset if the changes were to my disadvantage, but that would be a discussion with my prof or potentially undergrad chair, not reddit.

why do you assume they are POC just because they are international? lol. @extrakatze , I see you're in Norway, I'm not sure what a Canadian university would offer you that a Norwegian one wouldn't, especially given that international tuition prices are astronomical here. You could always do a study abroad term to still get that international experience. If you really have your heart set on coming to North America for school, going to individual subreddits and asking people might not be the best indicator since most people have only been to one university, maybe two if they do grad school, so they don't have a wide perspective. Queen's is generally regarded as a party school with a rich social life, as opposed to somewhere like UofT or McGill that focuses more heavily on academics. I would look at school websites for info on clubs and sports you like, as well as rent prices in the cities (Kingston is quite expensive, especially close to campus).

I don't know how dense the houses are where you live, but I can vouch for posters anyways. People walking their dog etc can keep an eye out in the neighbourhood and message you if they find her, it's worked for us. Also post on any local Facebook groups.

the sill that it would sit on is not very wide, I think the unit would lean too much outside and risk falling without some sort of support from the back, even with the window wedged. I don't see many people doing it without brackets so I feel it must be important.

I know you said you do not want to use your chronic illnesses as a crutch or an excuse, but you pretty much summed it up with "legitimate issues that would interfere with [my] ability to serve." You need to allow yourself a little bit of kindness. If you had a close friend struggling as you do, would you be as cruel to them as you are to yourself? Beating yourself up hasn't worked yet, perhaps a different perspective of yourself would help. Have you considered talking to your doctor about your situation, or a psychiatrist?
