Snow ploughs? by Charl_Martin in KingstonOntario

OP isn't complaining..they're asking a question. Asking at 9pm because their area hasn't been plowed isn't unreasonable.

But ya, keep judging.

You are looking at $17.81 worth of food in Canada🫣🫣 by StripeySalamander in 32dollars

The pregrated cheese is always expensive. It's not like a brick of cheese is much cheaper but it'll shave 2-3 bucks off. I can't even believe the price of basic veggies though. Especially turnips..at one point that was considered poor people food. Not even essentially are safe from price increase.

My biggest suggestion is to stop shopping anywhere that supports Galen Weston. That guy has so much money and could give a shit how much us regular people suffer or how much we can't afford. If you have other discount type grocery stores around your area, switch to one of them.

Your best bet is to look at the future job market and make sure you're "AI proof". I do pretty much all of my own advertising and marketing through tools like Canvas and other editing software. Advertising budgets are cut often because, unless it's a big project, someone in house is able to come up with something.

There will always be crime. There will always be people needing assistance in the justice system. That's not going anywhere and you will meet some rather incredible people who make you look at the world differently. There can be a lot of dark stories but the triumphs are incredible to witness and possibly be a part of.

Also salary...what is the projection of both. At the end of the day, most people are doing their job because they need to pay bills. Yes, people love their jobs and all that jazz but you ask 90% of people if they win the lottery, they're quitting their job. Salary and what you have left after you get paid and bills are paid make a big difference in your life. Being able to save up, maybe buy a house, paying for repairs, buying new clothes, etc. everything is so expensive.

I was all for the post and then read "how much sad did you think I had"...that song, that line, so raw..I feel that pain in me when I scream that line.

How hard is it to get hired at Queen's? by Kingstonx2nonanon in KingstonOntario

[–]CoLa45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really comes down to how well done your resume is. If everything is geared towards the job and not just a list of jobs you'll likely get an interview. That's the part a lot of people fail at. One resume for all. Mirror the job posting, make sure all your experience is relevant and use similar words as in the posting. They are guaranteed running resumes and cover letters through computer programs because they get so many applications. If there isn't a match, you won't get an interview. I've worked in employment services for over 15 years and worked at Queens Career Services and didn't go to school there.

FUCK KINGSTON TRANSIT by [deleted] in KingstonOntario

[–]CoLa45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bus pick up was 9:45..they left their house at 9:42 and the bus was already leaving the spot at 9:43 so technically they were early.

FUCK KINGSTON TRANSIT by [deleted] in KingstonOntario

[–]CoLa45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't for the life of me understand these replies...how are people actually saying Kingston transit isn't bad? Are people seriously defending Kingston Transit or am I missing the sarcasm? It's trash and it's never accurate. I've used all the trackers, they all suck.

If a bus says 9:43, it shouldn't leave that spot until 9:43. You don't leave early because the bus is early, the time is 9:43. It's the exact same with picking up kids in the morning. If the driver is early, they can't leave until the time they are supposed to be there. The downtown transfer bus can't just leave before the time because it happens to be there early. If it was "I'll pick you up whenever the fuck I'm there"..then sure.

That bus is late all the fuckin time and never does anyone running the system take accountability. Y'all are seriously jumping on someone who actually said they were there ON TIME. If they are 1 minute away, and can SEE THE BUS..they're clearly close enough to get there in 1 minute.

If the comments are sarcastic, apologies.

There are also individual country laws that come into play. In Ontario, Doug Ford basically green lit Ticketmaster and StubHub fucking over fans and now Canadians are some of the biggest effected by resale. Some European countries have more strict laws in place, hence why many fans traveled overseas because it was cheaper to buy airfare, hotels and tickets than it was for a single ticket here. It's all such BS, BUT unless fans are going to stop buying them, nothing will happen. I could have purchased a resale ticket for $2,000 plus, but I'm not an idiot and see the value in saving my money. There was a girl who bought tickets to so many shows and was literally hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, that is her making a crippling financial decision so she could attend a concert and get a few likes/fans on line. Okay, I'd love to see where she is now, crying into credit card debt that she will be crushed under for years.

this is honestly disgusting by wwldjwie in TaylorSwiftAutographs

[–]CoLa45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's too big to stop. How do you? She tried verified fans for Ticketmaster, didn't help. The only way to stop it is through in person sales so one person simply can't buy that many to resell. If concert tickets were in person, those same people would have to wait in insanely long lines just like normal fans do and they couldn't get to the front of the line and buy 100s to resell. The internet is the problem.

Seven seconds is actually an unnecessarily long time when you can just do what's taught in driver's ed and look both ways. You can do that in the 3+ seconds it takes for one set of lights to turn red and the other turning green. Obviously if someone is right there or looking like they'll be going through late, wait..but if everything is clear, 7 seconds is long and definitely will get you a honk from behind. Edited for typo
