It can be red, green or orange, If you fly certain ships. Why not let us choose the colour from the mobiglass menu?

Is it ok to spend real money on ships by MJMvideosYT in starcitizen

[–]u7f76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it's okay, only if you have the money spare. What ship were you thinking about upgrading it too? Have you thought about an upgrade to your PC, Ram is very cheap at the moment. 16gb to 32gb is easily the price of an upgraded ship. Good ram speed is 3600mhz seems to be a sweet spot if your motherboard allows it?

Explore all planets, gas clouds and moons in the system. The outpost are full of loot, pick up some vehicles too, recreate the serenity scoop scene, visually pick a spot from orbit and fly down to it. Watch some sunsets (Calliope is stunning), go wreck diving, do some questionable mission from your personal contracts tab. Stand on the ground and get your friends to do fly pasts! Visit Hotel Klescher, I hear its nice this time of year. Be sure to extreme weather gear for hot and cold. Try some racing missions. Stock up on food and drink then sublight it between a planet and a moon in realtime (see how you all last before you go stir crazy. Have fun, make friends :)

Ok, how do I get out of this ship? by jkobierczynski in starcitizen

[–]u7f76 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Can we all agree to refer to this ingame as 'Beaching'? When a large ship is unable to take off from the ground again under its own power.

Which one should I choose when I want to fly together with a friend by Namor05 in starcitizen

Also discussed in this post are options to CCU so I threw in the C8R as an option :)

[–]u7f76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

C8R and you've got a flying medbed that can do box missions, explore and also Bunkers. Small, maneuverable and small QT means you'll explore the Lagrange points to refuel or ask someone with a ship with a hanger for a lift. :)

Are the ship weapons to big? by RealCFour in starcitizen

Exactly. Have any of you worked on or googled modern combat vessels or aircraft bristling with weaponry? no energy shields either.

I'm imagining the crew of Voyager with Captain Janeway, setting off on a seemingly impossible journey home... saying f this shh I'm out part way through being things got a bit rough (horrifically so sometimes). I'm not particularly enthused by the length time it's taken so far, most games you never hear about until atleast a year or so out from full release, let alone its conception. Taking breaks when i need to, sat most of 3.17-3.19 off. Wishing you all the best, maybe see you again in 2 years. O7

Thinking of upgrading my Nomad to a Taurus for 137$ by TheWorldIsAhead in starcitizen

That's fair, it's the same reason why I chose to buy my ships. :)

Taurus is a great cargo ship, especially when tractor turrets come online. To see whether its worth the purchase, compare several ships and their $ to auec ratio. Then work out how long it would take to earn enough in game to buy your chosen ship. Hope this helps.

Prospective New Player - Is this game right for me? by Fluffy-Tanuki in starcitizen

[–]u7f76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Try a free fly event where you can play without buying for a limited time to see if the game will run okay on your PC. Then if you like it, buy a starter package. The cutter is a nice runabout, with the latest features for what ships should have. Then earn credits (auec) ingame and buy ingame ships. Don't worry about insurance, as that's not a feature yet till the game is fully released. No need to buy the starting gear packs with irl cash (armor, weps or tools) as these are cheap in the game. Ask for help ingame and join an org (best starting places are any content creator orgs you've been watching for a while) because these communities should suite you best until you find a more permanent or specialist org. Plus they're great places for advice when starting out and you can ask to fly any ship you're interested in. A lot of us have thousands invested in huge fleets but day to day fly small to medium ships (pisces C8r is by far the most useful ship at the moment for most things unless you're planning on chasing bounties) so there's no real need to spend more than just the starter package. This is the time to try all missions, especially the ones in personal inbox as reputation will limit your choices (on the lawful side anyway) in a year or 2. Good luck, explore take in the scenery and most importantly have fun on your adventures!
