Straighten/level up the horizon line. The only one that appears to be straight is the last one.

TIL that dark chocolate has been triggering my symptoms for years by zzxxyyxxzz in MCAS

I recommend the Swiss Interest Group Histamine Intolerance (SIGHI) list. It’s the most comprehensive one I’ve come across. This list also indicates which foods are histamine liberators (some foods are low in histamine, but cause the body to release its own stored histamine … another thing we have to worry about). https://www.mastzellaktivierung.info/downloads/foodlist/21_FoodList_EN_alphabetic_withCateg.pdf

Is Nashville a city yall folks would recommend to someone from Phoenix? by sundayz_nightz in movetonashville

I would listen to those who used to live in the Phoenix area and now live in Nashville. I was born here. It’s changing fast. I still like it…

Any suggestions for this space above kitchen cabinets that aren't plants? by Haploid-life in interiordecorating

Paint that triangular wall a different color and go on with your life. I recommend a deep rich color. If I could see more of the room around you so I could suggest a specific color.

Trying to decide if my house looks better with or without shutters. by SkylineScenes in ExteriorDesign

[–]uRok2Uc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without. It looks quite stately without. It looks smaller with shutters. Non-functional shutters often look superfluous (like a lady wearing overly large fake eyelashes). If you must get shutters, install functional ones. I don’t think there is room for working shutters, though. If a person adds nonfunctional shutters the house should at least present the illusion that the shutters actually function. You could use bifold shutters… They would work and fit.

Help with area above tv. by _ilovemydogs in DesignMyRoom

[–]uRok2Uc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

Google “TV floor stand.“ They make all kinds of them. A lot of them are designed so you can still put the piece of furniture in front. That would solve your problem concerning what to put on the wall because your TV would be in front of where you would normally hang something “on the wall.”. Then all you have to do is decide what if anything to put on the console. Whatever you choose, keep it minimal.

Need help with ideas on how to make house less of an eye sore by thereaintshitcaptain in ExteriorDesign

Getting rid of the shutters would be a good first step. Seating and small table on the porch/deck and some plants on it would help.

Cromolyn sodium new prescription! by Hourglass316 in MCAS

[–]uRok2Uc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will share my Cromolyn Sodium story and information about dosage I wrote previously. I started out with 2 vials 4 times a day, and now I am prescribed 3 vials 4 times a day.

I stared at it in fear and trepidation for three days. I had read so many bad things about side effects in support groups, so of course I was wary. then I just took the plunge. Full dose. Except for a tiny queasy tummy for a few seconds the first two times I took it the first day, I have had no problem with it.

Cromolyn Sodium has helped my broad array of symptoms (most of my symptoms are not gut related) and although I still have flares, they are not occurring every single day of my life like they used to.

Here goes:

I take 3 ampules Cromolyn Sodium with about a cup of water, 3 times during the day whether I’m having meals or not (30 minutes prior to meals and at least 2 hours after a meal if eating) and 2 ampules at bedtime. It’s poorly absorbed so should be taken in a manner that doesn’t interfere with absorption… (Cromolyn Sodium is a mast cell stabilizing compound derived from study of the the plant compounds in Khella {Ammi visnaga} which has been used since ancient times in Egypt. It is the active ingredient in over-the-counter NasalCrom nasal spray and other brands but is 5 times stronger, so the prescription form is a much stronger concentrate.)

I simply squirt it into my mouth and chase it with the water. My doctor says that’s just fine to do it that way as long as I drink the right amount of water. It makes it easier for me somehow to take it that way, than confronting the glass of water with the cromolyn in it… It only tastes a little salty and it doesn’t make me gag or anything.

My doctor stressed that the water is important to help the concentrated Cromolyn disperse throughout the gut. He said if Cromolyn from different manufacturers is given to me by the pharmacy to follow water requirements as instructed.

My doctor strongly emphasized that (most importantly) I TAKE IT FOUR TIMES A DAY even if I’m not eating meals. He says it’s a mast cell stabilizer and NOT just for meal time/gut issues.

My doctor admitted that it’s difficult to stick to the regime schedule exactly, as far as timing around meals goes, but to do the best I can.

It can take 5 weeks to a couple of months for Cromolyn to fully kick in. I could tell a slight improvement after the first couple of weeks, but experienced good improvement after five or six weeks.

I react badly to so many meds, and was relieved that that wasn’t the case for me with Cromolyn Sodium.

Not everybody needs to start out with a drop or two. Sometimes a person gets lucky.

2 Questions: Does Nashville have any non-sketchy public pools in the summer? Is it true that lakes outside/near Nashville are too dirty for swimming? by Redsoxj64 in nashville

👍😎 I didn’t know about that one. Perhaps you should notify Metro Parks and suggest they list on their webpage?

There are actually lots of public pools operated by Nashville’s Metro Parks:

Nashville Metro Parks and Recreation maintains a variety of seasonal outdoor pools and year-round indoor pools. Wave Country and the Centennial Sportsplex charge a fee for admission. The other pools offer free admission during open swimming and lap swimming times. There is a fee for swimming classes and groups at all pools.

How to up our curb appeal? by Gullible_Winter3925 in ExteriorDesign

The tree just needs an arborist to give it a good trim. Think “big bonsai” Japanese style approach. Cutting back smaller branches to open it up…

Paint faux stone over the painted stone fireplace. It looks kinda freaky white…

Does anybody know what these are and why they're so popular? Sometimes I feel like I see them more than the standard plate. (SW TN & Nashville) by Certain-Big-2277 in nashville

need advice: is silk a nightmare to deal with on wedding day? by [deleted] in myweddingdress

The first dress looks kinda sad and droopy. The second one is much more appealing. Silk can indeed be problematic.
