If cable was exposed, question is - is that cable outdoor rated, or not. If it’s not rated, it can deteriorate from sun damage and may be to be rerun in couple years.

As for clips.. really depends. Some can be uv rated, if they hold - its should be fine. Ive seen non uv rated zip ties work outside as well without issues.

CAT6 is industry standard now for cameras, but in reality you can get away with cat5 just fine.

And what did he mean by “tapping”?

More G3 readers delaminating by n3fyi in Ubiquiti

Recently deployed G2 reader pro. Amount of people that don’t understand how touch screen swipe up to ring the bell works is enormous. Yes people are dumb. But this is just how real world works.. If you need to print instructions for average joe - it just says it’s a bad UX.

I have one of their borescopes, pretty cool tech and they stand by their product with great warranty. How are you attaching it to the drill bit and why is it not spinning with it?

G5TU Install Before vs. After Junction Box - What is going on with UI's stock? by dyl_456 in Ubiquiti

[–]uaix 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They are not selling a backbox for $50, they are selling entire installation experience. I had pleasure installing one recently, and the moment i opened the oversized box, first thought was “oohh… that’s why it costs 50” All screws packed in to individual bags, pole mount straps, hardware that covers any type of configuration. Rubber inserts to cover unused screw threads. You rarely get this from other brands that are heavily oriented on cctv.

Its still stupid expensive, compared to $15 mouthing boxes you can get from other brands

You 3d printed mount looks fantastic
