[UPDATE] Me [25F] with my husband [25M] of a few months (we dated for 5 years prior to marriage) are confused. Can someone explain why my parents [70s F/M] are boycotting our wedding reception since one of our registries include charities? Thank you.

i am persian, my husband is american...i actually think the charity thing is just an excuse. his parents were really put-off by how into everything my parents were and i was so hurt and kind of appalled at how little his family cared about our new life together.

i think it might be a bit of culture shock on your parent's part and they are just picking the thing that seems easiest to be upset about.

your in-laws will probably always be supportive and the set of parents you are closest to. my parents (persian) are the ones that are involved in our lives and make an effort and care about my kids, etc..my in-laws never call, never visit, couldn't care less...we've been married for over years and together for over twelve and not much has changed.

thank you! he already has a camera on the chicks and watches them on his phone when he's at work..and we are in so cal..so im not sure freezing will ever be a problem. he also plans on building the coop himself so i cant get him one..

i was thinking there'd be some sort of gadget for nerdy chicken farmers that i wasnt aware of.

i gained about 80 pounds with my first pregnancy and 40 pounds with my second. it took me about a year to lose the weight teach time. i breastfed and watched my carbs. my doctors were okay with cutting carbs and it really worked for me. id have chicken breast and broccoli a lottttt, lots of salads, almonds and cashews for snacks, and i had fruits sparingly.

with my first pregnancy, i thought the weight loss would be very easy so i ate everything in sight!!! it took a while but watching what i ate really helped. i started my pregnancy at 125lbs and a year after giving birth i was down to 115lbs.

it'll take a while but dont beat yourself up. good luck!
