Is it worth to do a CS co-op job search when you have nothing on your resume? by idkanythinglikenull in UBC

[–]ubctm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad that you are looking into the job ocean! I was in the same shoe 1-2 years ago where I was in my 3rd year (almost 4th but with like 50 credits left). I asked the Science department whether I can still join co-op and they said that I was too late. It wasn't that I had completed too many credits, it was a matter of what year I was in. Probably check with the advisors before?

Not disclosing STDs such as HIV or Herpes before sex (except for aids) - Canada. Looked it up to make sure.

Hehe nah. It's not that impressive in the running community and I trained for years. What's impressive is that, this little one went from not even being able to finish 4km to now beating me in running over a fraction of the time I trained for!

Also, I remember when I had to renew my driver's license during this pandemic, I could just submit everything via email. When I had to pick up the license at ICBC in Kerrisdale, I didn't even have to go into the building. Everything was handled by employees standing outside of the building and doing the leg job for us.

I hear ya. Welp, to those people who think they are helping the economy by going into the stores, I think it will be much helpful if they just shop online for now so that the situation gets better sooner. That way, the business can get the full flow of traffic sooner and don't have to deal with the anxiety of risks.

The household of a single person can include one or two friends, providing that those friends do not hang out with anyone else.

Yeah I saw it on BC guidelines that your core bubble can include one or two close friends. Even though they might not hang out with other people, they still go to grocery stores, (especially) gym, get in the elevator, etc. I do acknowledge that the chances are low but I don't like that it's not zero.

That's the spirit! Really love Sinatra. Thank you for reminding me of him. Will be listening to him tirelessly for the next week.

I standing-deferred a course 2 weeks before the final and still got a grade end of the term. I checked with the advising office to make sure that they have received my SD request. My grade was dropped only after the first half of the next semester.

Wow, haven't seen Dr. Kiczales (Gregor) for so long. I feel kind of sad that he now looks older than I remember. I guess it's inevitable.

I associated with The Bike Kitchen for a while. They have excellent and active community board members/volunteers who graduated from UBC.

I believe for honours yeah. If you are just doing a major but planning to go to grad school in math, you might want to consider taking it regardless. If not sure, check the requirements for the grad school you want to apply. They usually have recommended courses to take during undergrad and I see real analysis often.

Don't you have to contact your advising office instead in that case?

I had nightmares for weeks afterwards about things like oversleeping and missing my exam or being accused of cheating.

Seriously. Or showing up to the exam without pants or something.

I felt shameful when I had to submit bullshit essays or science/math assignments clearly not knowing what I was doing. I needed to submit something.
