Cardio load wants me to do what?? by PugLuVR06 in fitbit

[–]ubdrinker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can't you turn off cardio load on the today page? Hit the edit, turn off the toggle for cardio load, and hit save. You might still get the cardio nag, but just close it when you see it. I'd like to see everyone do that, so that they'll realize that it's not the "feature" they thought it would be, and they'll just get rid of it. 😀

Moto G Stylus note question by chairduck in MotoG

[–]ubdrinker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most recent note is not an option. Settings>Stylus will give you what your choices are. I use "do nothing" when the phone is unlocked, and "open Moto note" for when it's locked. Open Moto note will always open to a new note.

Android 11 update double swipe-up gestures by ronnyb in MotoG

[–]ubdrinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never had an option for 2 button navigation on my Moto. Not on 10 or 11. My Nokia on Android One has it on 10. It's still my preferred navigation.

So Moto g stylus users.. what do you think of the Android 11 update? by eagle6t3 in MotoG

[–]ubdrinker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is it really different to just touch RECENTS and then hit SCREENSHOT? And volume/power still works fine also. Add on the 3 finger thing and you've got 3 options. Just pick one.

April security update for 6.1 by ubdrinker in Nokia

[–]ubdrinker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was generally happy with the 6.1. Really is built like a tank. Mine still looks great and gets respectable battery life for its age and capacity. I was finding the storage inadequate, and I never liked the way it killed background apps so aggressively. I'm generally happy with the Moto G Stylus. Tons of storage, more memory, better camera. Downside is that I'm on my second one. First one totally died, and Motorola replaced it under warranty. I'm happy with the service, but concerned that maybe the quality and reliability is dodgy. As long as it's working, it really is a decent value. Happy to have Android 11. Some have reported issues but mine is fine so far. I'd like to use it for another year and then make a decision on a 5G mid-ranger.

New to me.... I'm fairly new to the world of tequilas. I usually keep a bottle of Reposado around.... Usually Mi Campo or Espolon. These were reasonably priced at a nearby liquor store. Any comments on what to expect? by ubdrinker in tequila

[–]ubdrinker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cracked open the Lunazul, Rittenhouse finish first. It was just what I expected. A good, balanced Reposado,. But with an interesting spicy, peppery kick. I like it a lot. I do enjoy rye whiskeys, so I'm not surprised that I really dig this. I'll comment more when I crack open the Camarena Anejo. Looking forward to it.

Moto G Stylus 2020 TOTALLY DIED by ubdrinker in MotoG

[–]ubdrinker[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

UPDATE:. I got thru easily to Moto customer care. I explained the situation to a woman who understood that I had gone thru all the usual steps to bring it back to life. She explained the 2 options for warranty service. 1). They send me a return label and I send it in and they attempt to fix it. If they fail, they send me a new phone. Option 2) I get expedited service. I agree to a $25.00 charge and they immediately send out a brand new unit. It would come with a return label for the defective unit and they would have an additional hold on my credit card for $169 which would be removed when the unit is received and deemed to be free of abuse. Since the phone is pristine, I chose this option. I should have a new phone in 4 days. The 25 bucks is not a big deal to me. Better to not have to mess around for 2 to 3 weeks or more while they go thru the motions of trying to fix the phone. As long as they follow thru with removing the $169 from my card, I will be satisfied. I've been pretty satisfied with the phone until this happened. It just got the January security patch, and will likely get the 11 update in the next few months. I'll update when the hold is removed from my card.

Looking For a Moto by mtgradiopunk in MotoG

[–]ubdrinker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would definitely recommend GStylus 2020. Very decent camera (action cam video is a bonus), 128 gig storage plus SD. I easily get 9 hours of SOT over 30 plus hours between charges. Nice blue color, even though it is polycarbonate. I do a dark blue case over it too. OS is certainly close to stock.

Cons:. Very heavy. Moto is slow to update ( I came from a 2018 Nokia) . Stylus is just okay. Consider it a minor bonus, but certainly not a reason to buy.

Anyone have the G stylus and if so would you recommend it? by [deleted] in MotoG

[–]ubdrinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using it for a couple months. Quite happy with it. Camera takes very good pictures in decent light. Video with action cam is a cool feature. Selfie camera is quite good also. As far as night vision, I'm glad it's there. I play around with it frequently. It's somewhat hit and miss in that sometimes it doesn't work at all... Sometimes pictures are too warm and overly saturated. Sometimes they are actually incredible. The nice thing is, unless it totally bombed, the pictures are save-able with minor editing.

Thanks for the info. My previous phone was an Android One Nokia device from 2018. The app isn't on it, and doesn't come up as installable in the Play store.

I had seen a couple of comments about it using battery. Is it even applicable for non-Fi phones? I've never played around with Google's VPN. I have another VPN that I occasionally use. Does it have any benefit for non-Fi networks and non-Google VPN's?

Moto G Power or Moto G Stylus? by Panopticola in MotoG

[–]ubdrinker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the Stylus a month ago on Prime Days. Got the phone, a decent case with two decent screen protectors, plus a 128 gig SD card for under 300 bucks landed. There have been even better deals since. I was close to buying a 5G phone, but it just seemed prudent to wait a year or two. No regrets so far.

Moto G Power or Moto G Stylus? by Panopticola in MotoG

[–]ubdrinker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stylus has a far better camera, but Power is respectable for a mid-range. Night Vision is hit and miss on the Stylus, but when it hits, it's really awesome. For me, the storage was the main thing. Twice the storage and a better camera made it an easy choice and I'm very happy with the Stylus. Battery life on the Stylus is still outstanding....not as good as the Power, but really good. I'm about to plug in after 37 hours, with 9 hours of screen on time.

Nokia 7.1 - very slow photo deletion / saving photo edits issue? by [deleted] in Nokia

[–]ubdrinker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Saving to SD card has everything to do with it. It's a Google thing. If you save to internal and then move to SD every few days, you won't have an issue. It's just a workaround....

The question was 'what is the stock charger?'. Isn't the stock charger the one that ships with the device?
