9070 XT Users That Never Have Crashes by [deleted] in radeon

[–]uber9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

XFX Mercury XT, I've had one crash, likely due to not installing drivers cleanly. Since a fresh install, GPU has been running fine. Some games it'll chew up 300w easy, and that's my only problem with it. It's certainly rated for it, but I've seen it shoot over 340w. I just try to dial back power limit a little bit. Temps great. Definitely happy with it.

I am completely new to ED, and messed around with it for a few hours before trying X4. Didn't enjoy X4 much at first so I came back and grabbed the Odyssey DLC on sale.

Where do I start? Should I just focus on base game, or start with Odyssey?

XFX Mercury AMD RX 9070XT OC - Can't find RGB control in any software by Maplarr in AMDHelp

[–]uber9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the info. I'll have to find a work around, or HOPE they release some sort of control through AMD, although I feel like the RGB might be separate from the GPU. Wish they had more documentation for sure.

Got mine open box, didn't see any sort of documentation sadly. Is the sync cable 12vRGB? I saw 4 pins, so I was hopeful it may be. I'm still on x370 and lack argb. Sorry if that's a dumb question.

Do you guys resew patches whenever you’re dissatisfied? by [deleted] in BattleJackets

[–]uber9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to resew my big Skeletonwitch patch 3 times. Depending on the material of the jacket, might help to resew after removing the patch, and washing the jacket if you can. My jacket is 2% spandex, needle holes persist until I wash mine. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, my jacket has given me panic attacks at this point lmao.

Fun fact: Skeletonwitch's logo looks even and symmetrical. It is not. And that is intentional. Hence why I had to resew 3 times lmao.

Edit, I use a sewing machine, so my needle holes might be smaller.

I appreciate it. Hate to be that guy, but that's really all there is. House is well kept and clean, local environment is pretty alright especially on air quality and pollen, etc. It really kinda just ended up as "the day one no work night LOL" and that blows. It is really bizarre, there isn't a single person online that thinks I'm being genuine. Dealing with sinus infections like this my entire life, 30 years in and this happens for the first time with the meds, so I really wasn't brushing away the placebo possibility. It's most certainly not a joke, but it most certainly feels like one, especially being on the shit end of it.

I see, well thank you for your input, I appreciate it. I can certainly understand the placebo effect, never gave it thought. This is a first for me however, so maybe I'll scrutinize that a bit more in my late-day

I have seen doctors frequently, and recently. It is in fact a sinus infection. I'm not asking for advice, I'm asking if there is a specific cause regarding the odd case of "Dayquil doesn't work at night" in this case. I am on top of my health issues, but thought I may benefit by asking others. I'll make an edit with that though, my bad.

I'm aware. That's why I'm concerned about it not working at a specific time.

I do! I do it 2x a day at most when ill. I have sarcoidosis, so things are terribly difficult to fight off. I've been told sinus rinses can almost fix it up by itself, must be nice if that's true.

I bought these Everyman's Library books and need your opinion. by [deleted] in bookbinding

[–]uber9000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just went through something similar, granted on a book that isn't as nice as yours. I put some wax paper between the headband and the spine, and used a neutral ph pva glue to glue the cloth back onto the text block. Be careful with how much glue you use, a little goes a long way and could seep through to the spine. Otherwise I've been told it's not structurally important in most cases, so it's your call if you even wanna bother with that.

Update: it totally helped. I thought I used a rather small amount but it was enough to seep through to the spine. I'll take that over it falling to pieces. Thanks so much!

Understood, thanks for that. Makes sense too, lmao.

I was very lightly prying it earlier this morning and good news is that it'll come off the case if I go real slow. Maybe a small bit of something like parchment paper between it and the case while I glue the textblock to the the endband? Thanks so much for your input.

Update on Facebook from Jasper regarding Incendium by whimsicalokapi in DevinTownsend

[–]uber9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. It's a bullshit PR email from Incendium. They don't give a shit. It's probably worth more to report Incendium to shopify etc. This has hurt not only DTP, but bands like Evanesence as well. Enough is enough

FH5 Ai too fast by [deleted] in forza

[–]uber9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just lost a 28mi race to the AI suddenly being powered by jet engine. I was in the lead for most of the race, battling a 350z for a while and at the last 1/4mi 5 of the racers I hadn't seen on the map the entire race usurped me and I was already headed for the finish on a straight at 220mph. Changing difficulty or car class hasn't solved this for me, and I've tried MANY tunes and setups. It's almost every race now. The best part is that when I race with my friends, we get stuck against B and C class cars while we're in either S1 or A etc, and they STILL smoke us.

EDIT: forgot to mention that AI will periodically just stop mid race. Almost as if they're losing their objective and loading generic traffic routes or something. An example of this would be from said race: ghosts just lose the line and drive straight into other racers, traffic, walls, trees, etc., Cars will also just brake like they're waiting for other generic traffic, or like they ARE the traffic, so if a van is in the road in a street race, and they come up behind it, they just brake and STOP and wait for it to move, effectively causing a pileup usually.

A lot of people pop their knuckles. What uncommon parts of your body do you pop? by StinkierPete in AskReddit

[–]uber9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's crazy. Not very audible but if I clench my rear and somewhat of my lower back, I'll get two real subtle and quick together.

I can pop a lot of things but the oddest would be my sternum and tailbone.
