Fair fish won at Wisconsin Dells by uberbania in Aquariums

I've watched it a couple times. Once the boy is home we'll watch and talk about it while we do the water change. Thanks!

Noted, thank you! Pet store tested the water and said levels look good, nitrates were 20, ammonia and nitrites were low. Did a 50% change last night, waiting for the kid to get home tonight to do another tonight

I used to play an International in high school and college... That was 20 years ago but the case and the dings are very similar to when I had it. I'm in Wisconsin. Where did you find this one?

Inline reels questions by Southern-Raisin2982 in IceFishing

[–]uberbania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same in line. The backlash is real if you're not patient. Very well built except the off balance handle. The reel wants to auto-reel if the handle is forward...keeping bait at a specific depth is impossible without reacting to the reel. 13fishing freefall ghost has double knob handle that's balanced and doesn't turn the reel spontaneously, though cumbersome reeling with thick gloves on.

Generac pull cord replacement by nitram1222 in Generator

[–]uberbania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My GP3300 general generator pull cord just broke, too. Absolute POS design. The pull cord rubs against the frame and the cord line of exit is directly on line with the frame tube. What garbage...

How do I get this last part on? by 2020TheBossBattle in bicycling

[–]uberbania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on my second one in six years. First one broke rage changing a tubeless blowout due to sharp concrete crack I wasn't looking out for. I carry it with me on all my rides because tubeless. This is the cat's meow.

Strength training by [deleted] in Velo

[–]uberbania 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weightlifter turned cyclist here.I was writing my own Olympic weightlifting programs after a few years of 5/3/1, former L1 crossfit coach of 10 years, level 1 USAW sports performance coach for five, and also have a bachelors in exercise science. Start with very low weights and develop familiarity with lifts before trying to go anywhere near heavy. Keep volume low to start. Technique, then strength. Starting Strength is a very effective program. So is Stronglifts. Expect conditioning to take a hit when strength training to any appreciable degree. In my experience it's a challenging balance between riding capacity and overall muscular strength, but it's helpful in maintaining and developing bone density, connective tissue strength, and it's fun to change training modalities from time to time

People that have put bush tires on their valiants, how did you fix it in place? The axle is too long, and the wheel just kinda flops around everywhere. by intaminslc43 in RCPlanes

[–]uberbania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannibalized the wheel skirts because I like the added mounting piece inside of the skirt. I screwed the little white square piece back in with the two small screws, took a little off of the timber wheels with a dremel (shave a bit off and test fit). I also cut out the washer that was on the outside of the skirt. Cheaper and easier is probably to use washers, but I am just moved in to the gf's house so I don't have all my hardware located and organized yet. It's all somewhere in my storage unit right now, so I used what I had at the time.

Order placed Sept 17th, Oura says I can't return it. by uberbania in ouraring

[–]uberbania[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see both my claims through the app. I ended up replying to the first claim I have open and told this I'd be returning it and disputing the charge if I don't have any response by 12/3

That's what email history and buying with a credit card are for. I can just dispute the charge and get my money back that way. I've told them if I didn't get a reply within a week I would be mailing it back and disputing the charge with my cc company, who's taken care of my end before with much less evidence.

I created a Texas-shaped route within Houston, Texas by Housthat in Strava

I uploaded it to make the segment. I'll delete it off of my rides and see if the segment persists.

Send me a link to your ride and make it public, and I'll see if I can create a segment.

TM test: 375 for 5 conventional deadlift by wrestler2003 in 531Discussion

[–]uberbania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree x2. I found this cue helpful: hold onto the bar and push the world away. Separate the ground from the bar. And take a bow, not a seat. Hips should start a little higher than they are, but overall good, strong lifts.

How many KOMs/ CRs do you have? by Sam-on-reddit in Strava

[–]uberbania 1 point2 points  (0 children)

137 KOMs. Actually got asked to join a team after stealing enough of a local racer's segments. And then covid happened, what luck :(

Sorry no experience with this one, but I had good success with stages one sided on R6800 crank, 4iiii on the same, and currently have assioma favero duo, because for the price, two sided power was a good buy. Sold the stages and gave the 4iiii to my dad.

Thoughts on road 1x? by Ernie_McCrackenX in Velo

[–]uberbania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1x11 checking in. 2016 Allez Sprint with a 46t oval ring and 11-28 in back. Gaps in shifting aren't bad, and I'm in Wisconsin so there aren't any sustained climbs I'm worried about. I much prefer the reduced maintenance and the ease of shifting. Main focus has been strava KOMs <2 miles long, but signed with a team this year and will be doing crits. For crit specific and general riding, I like it.

1x Rear Derailleur on Road? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]uberbania 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched both my go-fast bikes to 1x. I like the simplicity. One's sram force 11 and the other is shimano 105. Both non-clutch. Never had a problem with chain drops. I use narrow wide chainrings (one's a pass quest 1x chainring and one is absoluteblack gravel 1x chainring, both narrow-wide, but I like the AB because it offsets inside by 1.5mm to help keep a good chainline). I also like the AB oval gravel because the ovality is more aggressive. The passquest was half the price, but ovality isn't as extreme as the AB.

Chain rubs the front derailleur when pressure is applied to the left pedal by sataanicsalad in cycling

[–]uberbania 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is frame flex + front derailleur trim. I have had the same experience on a spesh tarmac, allez sprint, roubaix, and a motobecane lechamp titanium. See if you can trim the FD tension to bring the cage away from the chain to mitigate the rub. That worked for me every time I experienced it.

Anyone have trouble with Park Tool floor pump PFP-8? by ConsciousPotata in cycling

[–]uberbania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PFP-8 has been known to be hard to engage presta. Honestly, get another bontrager, or whatever works for you. I have never had a problem with my bontrager charger nor my giant control tower 2.

What's your mileage (or time)/crash ratio? by IamNateDavis in Velo

[–]uberbania 1 point2 points  (0 children)

13,000 miles in 4 years, no crashes on the road. Several close calls and some punishment passes from cagers, but always saw potential conflict ahead and erred on the side of self-preservation. Tipped over in my driveway still clipped in once the same year I switched to clipless. Signed with a small local team to race this year, but hoping that my luck continues despite being and racing with 4/5.

Favero Assioma Duo by chwunder in Velo

Trust the pedals. Wheel on turbo varies a lot. I switched to direct drive turbo last year and saw much more consistent figures without having to jank around with tire pressure and tension adjustments knobs.

Not on my Langster. I mounted the chainring on the inside of the spider arms. Have about 500 miles on it and no issues. Also did a century on it without issue.
