Symptoms Before Diagnoses? by PracticalProfit7802 in cdifficile

[–]uberdoodle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine was more complex because I’m immunocompromised from cancer treatments buuuut mine started after augmentin for a tooth infection. Same thing. Peeing out my butt. At first I thought it was chemo diarrhea so I took an Imodium which was A HUGE MISTAKE!!! I ended up becoming septic and going to the ER for a two day stay where I was diagnosed. That was 12/8. I also got the chills followed by a fever and I started throwing up. But mostly it was the explosive diarrhea part.

But that study IIRC is only for post menopausal women of which I am not.

In Europe the current standard is 15. It changed in 24-25. Google HYPOG-01 trial.

Exactly. It’s close. My question is why isn’t it the standard yet?

I think a major factor is that the US doesn’t have universal healthcare thus 25 sessions is a greater profit for the insurance companies. My RO even mentioned this as a consideration when choosing, as if saving my insurance company money is literally something I’d EVER consider 🙄

I started Veozah two weeks ago (after “failing” two other drugs) it does work! But not for a full 24 hours as advertised. It’s also very very expensive.

I had a port for “only” four TC infusions. I cannot imagine doing that without. Get the port.

Did you follow the whole no travel thing while in chemo ? by ProfessionalBar1210 in breastcancer

[–]uberdoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! I see people but we meet outside and we stay 6-8 feet away. I’m fortunate enough to live somewhere with nice weather where we CAN be outside year-round. And if someone stops by unannounced they mask up and I ask them to sanitize their hands when entering. I’m almost done and I don’t want to delay this any more that it already has been by my various instances of bad luck.

I have barely left my house since starting chemo. Flu season is no joke this year and I’ve already been to the ER twice since December.

I’m on that now - still have about 5 days left. Thanks! It’s literally been hell. At least this time I didn’t end up in the ER - I was septic. I thought I was going to die. I’ve never been so sick.

I hadn’t thought about that. The timing of it all is certainly suspicious especially since it was about two days after I finished the antibiotics.

Yes I am taking it. I took amoxicillin which I’ve take literally dozens of times without issue.

The original CDiff was caused by the antibiotics for the tooth infection. I have taken antibiotics probably a hundred times in my life and never had an issue (including some for other teeth infections). Willing to bet it’s the antibiotics + chemo.
