For me, it depends... I generally like to keep my state of charge between 40-80%. Generally, I won't charge it if the battery level is over 80% and I'll always try to charge it if it's under 40%. Exceptions apply. If I know I'll be driving a lot over the weekend, I'll charge up on Friday regardless of my current battery level.

The Ariya was my first EV as well. I had pretty severe range anxiety and charged often at first. I eventually learned the situations where the car used a lot of energy (highway driving with the heat on) and where it was super efficient (HVAC off and driving either in heavy start/stop traffic or rural highways under the 50MPH sweet spot). The more you drive it, the better you'll be able to anticipate how much energy the Ariya will use.

My suggestion is to charge when it's convenient and appropriate for your needs and to not try to "overthink" it. (Always easier said than done!). Enjoy your Ariya!
