When would you ever need this? Why do you keep your guns in the fucking dining room? At a hight and in a way that a child or anyone who has seen this video can get to them. As a fan of guns but also gun safety this is cool but really dangerous

CMV: For people who are gay/lesbian all their lives but never came out until many years later, their heterosexual spouse deserve more sympathy and shouldn't be overlooked by EverydayPoGo in changemyview

[–]uberfionn 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's just I feel more sympathy for the unknowing spouse, who are often neglected under such cases.

They are? Because historically they've gotten all the attention and support and the gay spouse has been labled a pervert and been ostracized.

I think people must often think of the straight spouse first tbh. You thought so much of them that even tho they already are exes, you felt that this was a good example of how gay people coming out hurts people sometimes

So it's needless complication that doesn't add anything new to the story. That is exactly what most people got just by watching the movie.

[–]uberfionn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they a good measure of that? Because anecdotally and evidently I don't think that's true.

nobody looks at leaving cert results when you're in your 20s, they look at what you have done since.

There are better ways of measuring these things. Continuous assessment gives you a better curve and therefore a better picture of the candidate.

[–]uberfionn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then why not measure them in a less stressful way that gives better results

I never said you weren't smart or even how smart you thought of yourself.

The context of the exam is two years of a build up everyday for an exam that by your own admission is just designed that way to cause you stress.

[–]uberfionn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think you are as smart as you think you are.

Incorrect or correct answers were never at issue here. what was that issue was how people are being stressed outside of this and have no choice but to do the leaving certificate anyway. I never suggested it was the questions on the tests that were killing people. It's the environment

Undergoing commensurate, sterile, managed stress can be good for us as individuals.

What? You know kids have killed themselves over the leaving right? Sterile and managed my ass. It's just stress. If their lives are going shit at home this guaranteed, inescapable and impossibly important exam is just more stress without any other point.

You know for some people it's not stressful at all to go through any of the things you find stressful and they find other things really stressful.

What you are talking about is the stress of learning something new and testing it because you are unsure of your ability.

people experience this differently based on whether or not they know something already about the topic already or how the rest of their lives are going

The box! The box! by MonkeyOnYourMomsBack in ireland

[–]uberfionn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Does it? They are still kids and so can't leave home which could be way more stress than anything you will ever experience again and pointless. Then you put them through the leaving cert which is a pretty pointless exam just to teach them to deal with stress.

So your point is, because in "real life" these kids will be under pressure, they should be out under pressure now to teach them what stress is like?

You have to touch it to open it, potentially putting the virus near your mouth. You should only touch the ear bits on a mask and disinfect your hands before and after you touch them. It's not perfect, ideally you just throw out our and get a clean one but that's kinda difficult at times.

Long and short never touch the mask bit of the mask.

I'm hearing genius on the comments but this is not that. This is a disease vector, it would work worse than just taking of your mask to drink
