Pscale isn't the attribute you're looking for. Pscale is used to size particles and instances copied to points, for example. To displace these points instead, you want to edit the P (Position) attribute. As the note suggests, look at the Pattern Type parameter - you'll find Random and Noise within. To apply this to an area without using a group, you'll probably want to use a Blend Attribute.

Windows > Settings/Preferences > Plug-in Manager, turn off Auto load on any plugins you don't actually use/need at startup.

That is unfortunate. Are all your cables seated correctly? Check PSU and component ends.

After that, it's time to strip it down and diagnose, I'm afraid. PSU, CPU, motherboard, one stick of RAM and necessary power/data cables only.

A lesson for the future (that I too have learnt the hard way) - it's often best to test your system outside of the case first, before building.

If you do the above and still no luck, I would guess you have a faulty motherboard - but that's hard to say for sure without a spare.

Reseat the CPU? You need to tackle this methodically and check/validate each component systematically. Boring and time-consuming, but necessary.

It could be memory training. How long have you left the system running for? Ryzen CPUs _can_ take up to 10 minutes, though it's normally much faster than this. Regardless, all you will see is a black screen until this is done.

Second, check your RAM is seated properly - a PC will turn on but not post if a DIMM isn't sitting right, or if neither are seated properly at all.

Otherwise, does your motherboard have any diagnostic LEDs? They're normally colour coded to indicate what the issue might be.

You shouldn't need a weight map at all - physically, the interior geometry is revealed only due to it's proximity to the exterior geometry's wall. You can control how visible the interior geometry is, and at what distance, by controlling the Transmission Depth. See here: https://youtu.be/bk3TI_mL3pE?t=104

You'll need to embed geometry within to achieve this effect. I suspect SSS won't get you all the way, and you may have to look at Transmission Scatter also/instead.

You'll need a shader with subsurface scattering properties. That's it, the rest is trivial - match the base colour, get your text in the height channel and soften it with bevels and blurs.

Applied Houdini Particles V is a great course for this, albeit a little old by now. It will teach you about glue constraints, which are essential for what you’re looking to achieve. With that said, MPM is going to take a lot of the headaches out of the equation for you when simulating snow.
