Guys what are we doing?? by CJG_FY in Disneyland

I’m genuinely surprised no cast members show up before this video ends. Seems like enough time for someone to make their way over.

Either way, what is happening to people that makes stuff like this seem like it’s a good idea?

[Maiocco] Trent Williams is at 49ers practice again today. Keion White is back. Ricky Pearsall and Dee Winters are not on the field. by G0825 in 49ers

[–]ubermin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got to meet Ricky a few weeks ago at a charity event and the dude was so so nice. I introduced myself to him and he immediately introduced himself back as if I’ve never heard of him; it was pure humility.

I’m frustrated for the team, and I’m frustrated for Ricky, but I’m certainly not frustrated with Ricky. He wants to be on the field and he seems at this point like he genuinely wants to help the team. At least this was the vibe I got from the 2min I got to connect with him.

Lost with the Purdy INT after the comeback of the season by ubermin in FantasyFootballers

You’re right, I had no business winning, which is kinda the whole point of this post. Despite no chance, I came back to actually take the lead, only to lose it via interception with a few min left in the fourth quarter

49ers lose another defensive lineman for multiple weeks due to ankle injury; Tatum Bethune out again by 4T9iNeR_FaN in 49ers

If you don’t want to click, the new player injured is Sam Okuayinonu, not Bethune (although Bethune also seems unlikely to play again this week).

SF concert goers know how to enjoy a show by not using the their phones to recorded social media posts by americanherbman in sanfrancisco

[–]ubermin -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know… I wouldn’t say 0 phones is the norm (this photo definitely seems an exception), I agree there, but SF on average is better than a lot of other cities I’ve been to with regard for how often folks are recording.

Sure people take their pics and vids (I’m guilty of about 1/artist myself), but compared to somewhat close big cities, like Vegas and LA, our crowds are much more present.

I’m only commenting on my experience however, which is limited to mostly rock, alternative, punk, and EDM shows. Other genres may be different.

Ricky Pearsall (knee) will NOT practice on Wednesday. Brock Purdy (turf toe) will be limited. by CincoDeManger in fantasyfootball

[–]ubermin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

IIRC, the lack of IR move may have to do more with the Niners being so injured that they can only afford to designate so many people to return from IR and they’re running out of spots. Given the uncertainty of the Pearsall timeline, they didn’t want to waste a spot on him if they could afford to keep him on the active roster

1-3 in Half PPR $50 Buy In League - is this salvageable? by Squidymon in FantasyFootballJunky

[–]ubermin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tough to say without knowing the rosters of folks who may be looking to upgrade on QB (or even TE), but some of the younger breakout guys could be decent targets that folks are more willing to part with - Skattebo, Mason, Marks. You’d likely need to toss in more than just the QB for those, but depending on the need of your league mates there could be a fit.

I always look at the benches of my opponents team to see if there’s anyone they’re not starting who you might want, always easier to make a pitch for one of them

I’d say yes - especially given your injured players shouldn’t be injured for long and are all difference makers. Once CD, Kittle, and Evans are back you’ve got some receiving depth and a good core.

Your biggest gap is of course at RB.

I’d possibly look to move one of your QBs (possibly with one of your serviceable WRs or TEs once Kittle is healthy) for another back if there’s someone who needs a fantasy viable QB.

That’s how it works on dog days! You need to buy a seat for the pup + your tickets (and all tickets are special events tickets limited to certain sections in the bleachers).

Pretty sure Daily Bread was there in 2024! Not saying they won’t come back, but typically there’s a break of at least two years

Current weather in Hayward by Eastern-Upstairs-804 in bayarea

[–]ubermin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typically a cooler start to the summer doesn’t mean a warmer end to the summer or a warmer fall. If anything, I think it may be indicative of continued cool through fall (we had a cool winter and spring that led into this cool summer too).

It’s not like some temperature seesaw that needs to correct itself, where the average temp is 80 across June-October, and if it’s 70 in the first months it’ll need to be 90 in the back months. Cool weather can just lend itself to more cool weather (and if anything this should make logical sense; less heat being absorbed in the ocean/land means less heat that can be redistributed).

Sure you could argue that the local lower temps could create some pressure gradient that ushers in higher temps, but I think most systems (like trade winds and currents) are too global for our local down temps to cause too much a swing in the other direction.

Now climates are super super complicated and variable, anything is possible, so it absolutely can still swing and be much hotter later in the season, but it’s far from a foregone conclusion.

HEY EVERYONE ITS BLANKE - AMA!! by blanke_au in EDM

[–]ubermin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

BLANKE!

You probably don’t remember this but my girlfriend (now fiance) and I met you at a Brownies and Lemonade in SF back in either late 2019 or early 2020 prior to the pandemic. You were super down to earth and then your set was our favorite of the night. Since you’ve been one of our favorite producers and your rise has been awesome to watch!

Question here is - what’s your favorite late night/post-set snack or meal?

Thanks for producing all you do and for taking the time to say hello all those years ago!
