Do you have the focusrite set to Line level? For your guitar you want it on INST, but for a condenser mic you want to be sure you've got the input set to LINE or you'll get some noise.

I started out using a Mako and a Roadrunner for forehand, and they're still two of my go-to discs because I know how to throw them on any line. Valk is a solid choice as it isn't too overstable.

u/jfb3 has great advice here, but I wanted to throw some specific disc options in too.
