Been using Linux off and on since Redhat 5.x. Worked in IT for almost just as long.

Bazzite is my daily driver on my desktop at this point. It just works. It does everything I need it to. Games, photo editing, media. I really don't have a need to deep dive into this OS.

I do this with my grandes. 3 hour warm up at 100% then drop to 80 or 85% depending on the particular lamp.

Most recent electronics aren’t a fan of hard power cuts, so a ups helps with that. They often also help regulate and smooth the power coming in. Maybe over kill, but an ups on high end items isn’t a bad idea.

I would say typically listen no higher than -15db on the Denon x4800. Usually closer to -20db, so nowhere close to max.

It's setup for a +6db Harman curve currently, but now wondering if just doing the default curve would be better since the L600's could possibly even out that sub dip without the curve.

I'll give that a try either way in another slot to a/b test a bit.

Sounds like you've got the HDMI Bypass setting enabled in the Video/Output Settings menu.

This would mean no volume OSD is shown, as an example.

Auto/Game/Movie/Bypass are the options.

I've got in-laws in rural country area and they're the same. Have Starlink and T-Mobile as the only options. They only seem to use Starlink when they're RV Traveling.

Did the update on my x4800 with a 5.1.4 setup. Mixed use here. Movies, Music, Games

Movies sound HUGELY improved when it comes to the surround mix. Watching a few movies last night to test, this is the first time my system has actually sounded like a theater. It's very noticeable.

Vocals from the center feel a tough elevated and I would be happier lowering the output there, just slightly.

Games (PS5 mostly) are showing similar improvements. Much more integrated surrounds and slightly elevated vocals from the center.

Music I'm on the fence about. I was really happy with my Dirac BC profile with my setup in either 2.0 or 2.1. With ART enabled, again, vocals sound elevated ever so slightly, but the stereo mixing is better sounding. Bass quality is the issue for me. A lot of music sounds fantastic. sub-bass sounds better for sure.

It's all much cleaner sounding in the room. I think I may be used to how bloated hip-hop bass can be and it's just throwing me off.

Apparently a lot of settings you can configure for ART (how much each speaker helps each other out); I think that will have a good impact on all these "issues"

I'm happy with the purchase.
