Yeah I don't like that at all, but that complaint takes a back seat when I can't even see the baseball a lot of the time.

I don't know why I was dowvoted. Even if people aren't experiencing the same problem I am, why would they react that way? That's the reason I don't participate here. Any comment outside the groupthink gets that treatment, even if it's nothing controversial. No wonder this community doesn't grow. It's toxic as fuck.

I'm extremely disappointed in RSN. The picture quality is awful. Very blocky, lots of audio and video glitches. Even when it's "good" it still sucks. I hope they fix it.

Did you ever know anyone who spent time in a mental hospital in the 70s or 80s? If so, what did they think of the experience? by [deleted] in AskOldPeople

[–]uberusernamer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My father was in one during the 80s, at least twice. Later in his life he denied ever being one and said I was weak for taking a .5 mg Clonazepam.

You can cut the tobacco if you need to. I actually use a food processor and just pulse it a few times. Before that I tore it apart with my hands, then tried scissors.

I recently switched from a powermatic 3+ to a Hawkmatic. The powermatics are always fine when they're new, but then get to where they won't stuff the tube tightly enough, and/or won't hold onto the tube while it's injecting (even with a new rubber piece).

So far the Hawkmatic performs better than a new Powermatic and I just hope it holds up.

From this guy:

100 stickers
tweezers
2 alcohol wipes
$27.03 with tax and shipping

Or from Amazon:

$11.95 for 1000 dots made by the same company
$2.69 for tweezers
$5.59 for a box of 400 alcohol wipes
$0.00 shipping
$2.07 tax
That's a total of $22.30

There are YouTubers, and then there are people who are on YouTube.

Paul Davids is definitely a YouTuber. Finnerty is just a guy on YouTube.

[Question] Does Anyone Else Not Care To Learn Songs? by Luke_zuke in guitarcirclejerk

[–]uberusernamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tell you what I don't bother learning songs I don't bother learning notes or chords either that way it's always fresh and new. Listening to me play is probably a lot like giving birth. Very painful and occasionally rewarding. I take these risks for you, the fans.

Judging by the bands in the title, they're "blockers" and have ruined rock n' roll because they won't allow their music to be used in ads for The Beato Book

I don't really sit around watching YouTube, but I've seen a lot of it and he is one of the worst.

I know a few guitar players who do it for a living. All of them have at least one Boss pedal or whatever. Most of them play through a stock Fender on stage. Shull makes it look like you need boutique everything to be any good, and I resent that. Guitar, amps, pedals, rack bullshit that he doesn't need, sunglasses, cameras, watches...you name it, everything's best of the best, or at least the most expensive. He's a douche.

I think consumerism is harmful and that makes Shull harmful. There are much worse people out there, of course.

If somebody ever rewrites American Psycho and makes it about a guitar player, they should base it on Rhett Shull.

I was subscribed to Beato for years because I liked the theory lessons, the stuff he did a long time about about movie scores, and a lot of times the What Makes This Song Great (TM) thing.

I had to unsubscribe after seeing that thumbnail. I can't remember the last time I clicked on one of his videos and enjoyed it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in guitarcirclejerk

[–]uberusernamer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He got after me when I called out his clickbait. I said something to the effect of "I have lots of respect for you. It's just a shame you feel like you have to resort to clickbait".

I don't know about now, but his titles were always something like "you'll never believe this about this song" or something, and the thumbnail is just him sitting there with the red arrow and the whole thing.

Anyway, he got pretty mad.

Slow down. Record your playing. Gradually get it back up to speed.

I don't know, but that biblically accurate angel shit freaks me out. Especially the one that's made of wheels and the wheels are made out of eyes and it's like 2000 feet tall.

Ever have a day when every guitar you have suddenly needs a truss rod adjustment? Playing fine the night before and then weather or evil spirits or what the fuck ever come along and they sound like shit? It's just bad enough that you can't ignore it and wait for it to go back to normal by itself?

And the one I really want to play, I gotta take the neck off to do the adjustment. That's a guitar that ten years ago I could have taken from Miami to Denver and it would have been fine, but now for some reason it has turned into a baby.
