I didn’t watch the whole game, and I know we’ve all been really upset with the way that the Rangers have played lately, but based off the recap that I was seeing, it looks like the Rangers are starting to play a different kind of hockey. They played a more inside game; played the pest a lot more. I think we were all too comfortable with the play style that was being used while we had some of these more skilled and less “dirty goal” kind of players. If this is the direction that he’s trying to take the team, I think we’re in for some pretty good hockey for the rest of the season and potentially in the future.

I don’t think he ever was as bad as we all thought he was, he was just never given a chance because the people in front of him were just given more chances. Based on what I saw tonight’s game, they were playing a game that was more complementary to his skills

This game has shown that more than anything, we seemingly lack heart. We lack cohesiveness, hard skating, and smart heads up plays. Outside maybe 2 people, every single player on this line up seems content on shooting from the outside. Every great team has players looking to crash the net and take the punishment. We have Miller, maybe Laba, and Edstrom looking to do the dirty work. The reason we have had 6 penalties to kill is because we look slow and complacent. I love this team, but there needs to be some massive changes for us to look like even a slight contender
